Gravatar From a child at the end of Vietnam: Again? Why?
I entered active service on 29 September 1973. My lottery number was 343 if I remember correctly. OK, it's been 34 years. I am now 53, and it sounds like the same song and dance. If I had been wiser, I would have performed better at the begininng of my Naval Career. But the bottom line is, I volunteered even when the Democrats were engineering defeat then. Take it as you will. They are still trying to engineer defeat in Iraq and Afghanistan, simply because of the man occupying 1600 Pensylvania Avenue in Washington. How shallow is this? I served Republican and Democrat equally. We son't serve the man, but the Office. Jimmy Carter was the active duty sailor's worst nightmare. Thankfully I only had to give Bill Clinton 8 & 1/2 months. But I kept my mouth shut. I had sworn an oath and it actually ment something to me. My dad held the Bronze Star. Service to the Nation means something in my family. Sorry I can't say the same for the Democrats in The Congres of The United States of America.
It isn't eloquent, but there it is. I still turn wrenches for a living and have no 4 year degree. So I am one of those that the Democrats want to help. Thanks but no thanks. I have done just fine on MY OWN!
So shut up, sit down and let the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Air Force WIN.
