$\"Gravatar\"$ This are very touching videos and I was happy to see them...but I'm sorry, we are all aware of the fine character of our young men and women over there. No one on the left or right is disputing that. The \"Reason We Are In Iraq\" is not simply to show what great folks our troops can be to those kids. I think most of you know this, but please don't make a mockery of those who have honest differences of opinion about the legitimacy of OUR GOVERNMENT'S reasons for being there. We all love our troops, pro-war, or anti-war. It's divisive and unproductive to suggest otherwise.

ps. before you condemn this post out of hand, I want to point out that I have both a son who returned from Iraq two years ago, and a daughter on her way to Afganistan in the new year. I'm as pro-troop as they come...just against the War in Iraq, like most Americans...

I've had a difference of opinion with our government that goes back to 1860 and that FINE outstanding President, Lincoln, but that didn't stop me from serving the country of my birth (the occupying government of the country of my birth, at any rate) when I was of age to enter the armed forces, nor did it stop me from doing whatever was asked of me at the time.

There is a point that I hope has been made in my putting that the way I put it. We DO have the right to disagree with our government, WE have the right to voice our opinions about the policies our elected officials make, WE have the right to protest and redress grievances...in case you've forgotten, the United States was attacked on 11SEP2001, and while it is true that most of those who were involved in the attacks were indeed from a nation that is \"presumably\" one of our allies, Iraq did at the time pose a clear and present danger to the United States as well. Do you honestly think that the UN inspections teams didn't find any WMD's because they weren't there? The inspection teams were kept OUT of more areas than they were allowed access to unless and until the Iraqi's had time to move anything that might have been found to another location.

No, it's not all about smiling children, but by God that's a side benefit that money can't buy.

I know a few lefty morons that think a kid in the military taking an order should be tried for murder. We did have good reason to go and we have done good things since we have been there. There were WMD's found there but you have to look for that info yourself because the mainstream media is not going to report it until they secure the next four years for Oblahblah!
