I'm against this cult, but as a counter argument to the usual fluff...
Why shouldn't polygamy be allowed as rights to different lifestyles by "consenting" adults? Cannot one make an argument that humans are born this way as well? Or should be allowed such choices? And shouldn't schools teach stories like John, Jack and Jill? The Two Kings and Queen?

Why doesn't the ACLU argue for such a position? Is it not natural in Darwinian evolution terms for the male to spread his seed among many females?
Oh hold it... the ACLU does support polygamy:

why is it so hard for people to understand the aclu supports free speech even if that speech is not what most amercians believe in
so u may or proably will dis agree with that speech
but by defending it you ensure that the united states remains free
after all who will decide what is ok to say will you or me, or the next president , if we leave it up to one or too people then we all lose.
so they fight for the right to say it not for people to believe it
the menbers of the church are free to do as they please

i think the child welfare system needs to woory about the other childen who are being abused and work on finding safe homes for them

To have arrested all the men in this situation,which seem to me to be the common sense approach, would have taken away the threat of sexual abuse until all facts could be gathered. It is obvious that the women have been brainwased and also fear the after affects of thier comments. Is thier religion the worship of God or the worship of a life style. Thier present living arrangements are not following the teachings of God but of the men who disguise themselves as religious leaders instead of thier actual existance as child molesters and pedifiles. Remove and prosecute the men, send in deprogramers the complete the job. I am so sick of people hiding behind the excuse that tjoer "Constitutinal rights" have been violated. Our founding fore fathers did not have in mind when they signed this document for it to be used to hide crimes,bigotry and plain stupidity. This is a great task for the Texas judicial system, but; as the saying goes nothing is too big for the state of Texas.

brenda, they cannot arrest the men until the investigation is complete. That is putting the cart in front of the horse and no judge is going to sign a pre-emptive arrest warrant.
I understand how you feel, but sadly, common sense usually isn't supported by the law.

Cassandra, it would me more wrong to leave children in an environment that they deem unsafe. By evironment, I do not mean their religion, I mean an environment where men rape underage children and the mothers allow it.
If this was a case of three children being removed because one child was being abused under those circumstance, I doubt we would be seeing that attitude.
The numbers should not be used as justification for leaving any child in any environment that is not safe.
Thank you, Michael, that is what I have been saying all along.I believe there should be nothing wrong with consenting adults marrying however many people they want.
Having it out in the open, would make those children in these homes less sheltered, and child abuse more likely to be recognized sooner.
hello! Can't anyone forgo ANY temptation for the sake of our society? It IS NOT ALWAYS ABOUT YOU! Your actions effect EVERYONE around you. In today's society people can only think about what they want and how it makes them feel; completly self centered. This mind set has taken this wonderful country through the muck and then "the people" say it's freedom of speech. It annoys and disgusts me that thousands the lives have been lost for the USA to remain strong and free, unfortunatly we think free has NO COMMON SENSE!
I am glad to finally find a forum for free thought. Adrienne I believe your onto something on how to many people do not dare go beyond their comfort zone, when it comes to understanding issues and expressing themslves.
