I have to say spree after looking at the situation over the last couple of months, there's no other conclusion I can come to other than the only thing standing between America and victory in Iraq is the Democrats.
Those are harsh words. I actually am a bit shocked, but the evidence that the surge should be given a chance because it's working is overwhelming.
Equally overwhelming is the evidence the Democrats are willing to artificially create a Constitutional crisis over this to stop the war and retreat, paving the way for Islamist control from Pakistan to Indonesia.
Now I agree with the Vice President, it's not Nancy Pelosi's patriotism that's in question, I believe she truly thinks leaving Iraq is in America's best interests. From a purely short term prospect it would be wonderful to have our troops home.
But with all the yelling and screaming from the Left about the "unintended consequences" and "blowback" of us going into Iraq, not a single one of them will discuss the completely obvious consequences of us leaving in defeat: the *millions* who will be slaughtered in ethnic genocide, the very likely nuclear destruction of Israel, and the complete end of the world's economy as oil prices triple or more.
And then the attacks on the US will begin...those who will blame us for causing the disaster in the Middle East, those who will blame us for not stopping it, and those who will spread fear and terror in the US by bombing bridges, hospitals, schools, monuments, shopping malls, stadiums, parks...
The Democrats and their supporters simply aren't aware, or choose not to be aware, of what the consequences of defeat will be. They cannot be trusted with power in our lifetimes again, and I'm hoping in 2008 they'll be sent into the wilderness for good.

On May 1st 2003 President Bush said "Mission Accomplished" almost 4 years to that day we are pouring millions of dollars and sacrificing thousands of American lives on a failed policy. When does one say enough already? This isnt about winning and losing. To try to make democratic government and instill our moral values on an islamic country half way around the world is a ludicrous thought. And if you can't see the billions of dollars that U.S. companies with ties to the administration has made at the expense of American and Iraqi blood then I have some swamp land for sale..Oh..by the way..gas prices are on the rise again..someone must have capped an oil well somwhere

Try finding the REST of that quote pal.... Mission finished, and reconstruction begins.
The mission was toppling Saddam Hussein...CHECK..DONE....FINISHED.
In case you missed the "memo" Saddam is dead.
By your deliberate skipping of the last part of that speech shows that you try to "misrepresent" the quote because the TRUTH doesn't fit in with your lies.
Nice try, but I have the ACTUAL full quote posted in a previous post.

The actual quote found here: http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/05/01...ush.transcript/
Thank you. Thank you all very much.
Admiral Kelly, Captain Card, officers and sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln, my fellow Americans, major combat operations in Iraq have ended. In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.
And now our coalition is engaged in securing and reconstructing that country.
-----------
Very convenient to "forget" that part of the speech, but just because YOU choose to "forget" doesn't mean the rest of us do.

If you wanna hang on that " securing and reconstruction" feel free I left it out because its even more of an embarassment to complete mismanagement of funds and disregard of human life of this administration..There certianly is no more security than 4 years ago. In fact its probably worse. Count the headstones in Arlington. Ah yes reconstruction..with most of Iraq living on 4 hours a day on electricity generated by portable generators. Still no real infrastructure. Bodies piled in bombed out buildings for weeks on end so families may try to indentify them. Yet our billions of taxpayer dollars fund this endevor of reconstruction and security.

You left it out to misrepresent the presidents words...you are conning nobody.
you completely ignore the recent successes, that in the last two weeks over 600 Iraqi families have returned to their homes because guess what???/THE NEW PLAN IS WORKING ALREADY.
You completely ignore that al-Qaeada has strategically retreated in advance of the so called "surge"
You completely ignore the fact that al-Sadr is hiding in Iran.
You seem to completely ignore the conditions on the ground so that you are able to spew forth the old party line, which, incase you haven't seen it yet....the American people are saying they DISAPPROVE of congress and their actions now.
Found here: http://
www.outsidethebeltway.com...ey_20070220.pdf
So you keep ignoring the truth while spewing your deliberate (you did say you deliberately left out part of Bush's quote) distortions and we will keep telling the American people the truth.

You know, I was thinking today, earlier, as I was reading something about Ike in his planning of Operation Overlord (that's the Normandy Invasion for those of you who aren't more intimate with the term), "What if the politicians had been running the war during World War II instead of letting the military do their job?"
Can anyone say "Sieg, Heil?" That's what we would have been saying if that had been the case.
Congress needs to sit down, shut the hell up, and leave the military operations to the military commanders.
nuff said.

Always the same smarmy remarks from the left, isn't it?
Military leaders like Eisenhower and Bradley, just to name two. Men schooled in warfare, trained professional soldiers, not windbag politicians who are more concerned with their own political careers than with seeing this through.
Have you forgotten that we were attacked? Not just on 11SEP2001, but other times prior to that?
I pity you. It's all politics with people like you, you understand nothing substantial.
