Don't know how I got on this blog - but it is disconcerting, though not surprising, to find such hate filled energy towards other human beings elected by a majority of the voting citizenry to try to make our country stronger and better. So what's your opinion of Patty Murray? Your original comment - that I believe brought me to this blog, is so sad but true. I watch or tivo the Senate every day and night if needed and you are right about the way things are going - that 60 votes are needed to accomplish anything in the Senate of late. Your comment however refuses to realize that although the Filibuster has long been used as needed - it was not meant to be used for every bill that comes up just to maintain control. Mitch and his cronies are manipulating the constitution to fit their own needs, as usual, as the administration has been doing for over six years now and thank whatever Supreme Being you like, or yourself if that feeds your ego - that finally it seems Russ obviously feels the climate is better to put this censure forth again. As far as impeachment, the more the Congress is able to accomplish the sooner this will come, if at all. The House has to initiate impeachment proceedings and they are quite busy building their case through the Hearing process. Are you donuts aware of the Waxman hearing on Katrina Trailers? Yet another shining example of King George's incompetance in his replacement of Brownie on FEMA. The censure opens the door - kinda like the Senate saying - go ahead House - bring the Articles of Impeachment up - we are ready. Wake up. I believe that the best way for me to support the troops is to help protect them as well as provide everything they need to do the job their King has bid them to do. However, that does not mean that the Guard and Reserves should be sent over and over and over again, We have lost many here in Washington. I was against this war from the beginning. Not the war on terror, but the war in Iraq. My reason being the loss of life on both sides - don't believe in war, but like most others in this country - did believe in finding those that did in fact attack us on 9/11. I did not, however, and never will believe that we should have sent our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, doctors, lawyers, police, laborers, teachers (so many reservists) to fight an undetermined, unidentifiable, ever changing enemy in the dessert of Iraq. And, I never would have imagined that, if we did, we would send them without a plan for peace and without the necessary protections for their life and limb. I support and respect every single person who volunteers to protect me and our my way of life. However, I believe that the best way to support our troops is to listen to them. It's not that hard for me - they have blogs (here I am), and u-tube, and videos on the Military Channel as well. I stopped at the words "stronger and better", anybody that thinks surrender is an options doesn't know the meaning of those two words, and are proving day by day, wasted taxpayer dollar by dollor, investigations that have produced nothing by investigations.
