I too was upset over this, but nothing they do any more really 'surprises'. It disgusts us, as you have said. The photographer and the reporter have been banned from 'embedding' any longer, at least that is what I think I heard. They should have banned the entire NYT. As an example to others if for no other reason.

I share your feelings and just hope that there will be a law suit. But I wouldn't count on it... honorable people don't try to score a big cash settlement over things like this. I hope someone can persuade them that unless honorable people stand up, the dishonorable people (i.e. the 'journalist' scumbags at rags like the NY Times) will never be held to account in this world.

One solider is trying to find a lawyer to conduct a mass suit on the part of all military against the NYT.
If a BIG lawyer would stand up and accept, this COULD happen.

I would like to see this soldiers url sent out as far and wide as possible and see if a lawyer, any lawyer, is willing to take it on.

They definitely need to be made an example of. Personally, I would like to see any monetary awards go to SSGT Leija's family.

Hi Spree, I just posted that link on my Myspace Bulletins. I have many, many friends that are either in the military or families of the Military. I asked that all of them pass it on to all of their friends, families and co-workers as well. I would definitely like to see the NYT nailed hard! I cannot even imagine what SSGT Leija's family must be feeling right now. It is hard enough to see people in uniform on your doorstep knowing what they have come to tell you, but to have to hear it in the news first!?! This is an outrage!!!!!

Thanks Becky and yes it IS an outrage and they can apologize until the cows come home. It was unethical, immoral and I believe one of the reasons that they are losing profits.
