Gravatar Pat Tillman, America's greatest un-sung hero, may his chariot of patriotism be filled with his likeness.

Gravatar Yeah but...

Many of other other enlisted men and women walked away from their families (priceless) to serve America and have been killed in the line of duty.

I will respect each and all fallen soldier equally and will not single anyone out and put any one of them on a higher pedestal than the others.

B

Gravatar Yeah don't forget Pat or the FACT that his family worked very hard to get the crooks in the bush admin out of office. Meanwhile you cowards defended traitors like Rumsfeld and Cheney till the end. You used a true patriot for your own shameful causes. Shame.

Gravatar @Brent:

I hear what you're saying, and I would generally agree, but as a combat veteran Ex-Army RANGER Infantrymen myself, I will always place a direct combat Infantryman's sacrifices on a higher pedestal.

Admittedly, I'm somewhat biased because of the obvious. Keep in mind, when you say "walk away from..."......... everyone, and I mean everyone is a volunteer, and everyone gets to pick their MOS (military job), unless they're unqualified for a highly specialized one. When you choose to be a front-line infantryman in direct combat, your choice places you in a different class... you're telling the world that you're not there for the "College Fund", you're not there for any other reason but to fight in direct combat with the enemy.

Every loss of a service member's life is a tragedy. But is it more of a tragedy when we lose an Army RANGER than it is a National Guard Truck Driver? You betcha, unquestionably. Sorry to any I offend, and many of you will disagree, I'm sure. The fact is, there are only a tiny number Army RANGERS overall... 3 Battalions, less than 2000 of them overall. So when we lose a RANGER, or a SEAL, or a DELTA Operator, is it a bigger loss than a Truck Driver or other MOS? There's no question that the answer is YES, whether you like it or not, and whether you understand that or not.

@News:

Be conscious of who you're calling cowards... Were you ever a front-line infantryman serving in direct combat? It seems you're just another one of many who have got an acute case of 'digital bravery' and the delusional thoughts to go along with that. Rumsfeld was a clown and made alot of horrible decisions, and Cheney also in many ways, no question. But your spewing of spineless-jellyfish drivel doesn't really mean a thing to any of us, quite honestly. You're a clear example of another digitally-brave, internet hero who most certainly doesn't have a clue. Fortunately for you, men like myself, my comrades, and Pat Tillman volunteered to defend the US and its interests, and to protect all Americans... including the left-wing nut jobs and angry fools like yourself. Be thankful, and not so hateful.

Gravatar AbnRANGER, ease up. Digitally brave? I've seen plenty of death and cowardice too. Thanks for agreeing about the mismanagement, that's all most of us ask, that the chicken hawks take off the blinders and hold the crooks accountable. I'm no left winger, just a man who loves his country and was sickened by the trash of the last 6 years. There's plenty of us on all sides.

Gravatar @Anonymous:

Thanks for proving my point... even barely literate, deluded, conspiracy-believing nut-jobs like you get to be defended by honorable, selfless, dedicated warriors... even if you're an absolutely embarrassing blemish on society. Work on your spelling next time... your ridiculous theory will still be just as ridiculous, but if you spelled decently, it wouldn't be such an obvious sign that you only have a double-digit IQ.

Gravatar Abnranger you are the very definition of "digitally brave". A real Ranger doesn't display such arrogance and pick fights with strangers on the Internet. Go back to playing your video games lil' man.

Gravatar Ouch, looks like abn got put in his place...
