What has America become? The overwhelming support by the MSM and a majority of Hollywood for a man and a political party that has so many questionable and unethical associations with questionable ties and unanswerd questions, has become almost embarrassing. The rest of the world is laughing at, and suffering because of our lack of responsible people that we can ALL believe in. I am a proud veteran, but am wondering if it was worth the time and effort to defend our great country from without when it is being torn apart from within by political asperations of people on both sides of the aisle who all want the power, not to help but to control. Have we degraded to a society of the last man standing lives? I am not a big fan of the republican ticket, but the democratic ticket scares the me. I am embarrassed to vote because I know it will be a wasted vote. Whoever wins the election, we the masses will be the losers.

Good questions all.

Even if Obama started growing horns, they would ignore it. I fear there is nothing that will stop this man from being elected. I don't want to be negative, but I do try to talk to my few democratic friends and they will not be swayed. There are so many things that scare me about him, I don't know where to begin. I just pray we don't go down the dark path that he will lead us into.

Unfortunately, I think the answers is yes. Most people I speak with are woefully uninformed about the man for whom they intend to vote. Most are also distressingly uninclined to believe anything you try to tell them about him. My father, for example, normally a conservative-leaning moderate, doesn't believe any of these issues are valid because, as he puts it, if it were true, it would be on the news.
One would like to think that most people spend at least a little time researching the candidates but they don't.

"One would like to think that most people spend at least a little time researching the candidates but they don't."
I think this is a sorry fact that we who write about this every day tend to neglect. It isn't that they don't get it, it's that they aren't even looking for it. They are too busy with what they consider to be the truly important things to be concerned about researching presidential candidates; and so -- as always -- they depend on others to do the work for them. Unfortunately for our country, those others are almost invariably our embarassingly biased leftist MSM.
My biggest hope in all this of course is that I'm simply wrong. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be simply wrong.

I'm actually praying I'm wrong. There is, after all, a first time for everything.
I think a McCain victory would, at least, put us in a holding pattern for the next 4 years; time enough, perhaps, for conservatives to regroup.
There's always the chance that the MSM, if they begin to sense that an Obama victory is not assured, will actually begin to report on some of these stories, hoping to salvage at least a shred of credibility. Otherwise they've forefeited their ability to help future candidates.

Oh, only if we could be wrong. But the MSM won't let that happen.
I agree with Paula that 4 years of McCain would be a holding pattern, hoping that the Repubs could find someone who could gain the support of the populous on both sides of the aisle and put us back on the track to properity and security.
If we can't hope, we have nothing.

Watching from outside the USA, it is absurd how a candidate can still be running, inspite all these scandals surrounding him. I believe the American society is broken. In Holland everyone eligible to vote receives a voting card two weeks before the elections. No voter registration. You receive a voting card from the election board two weeks before the elections, on the card is your details. On voting day, you bring the card together with your passport. Election officials cross check the details on the card with your passport. If it matches then you can vote. If not, you cannot vote. You must be in possession of both to be able to vote.
Anyone crocket enough like Obama's campaign can easily defraud the American system. That is precisely what they are doing, capitalizing on the financial turmoil.

The check and balance aspect will be gone with a liberal super majority.
We need McCain and some consevatives to win elections.
