I found Cory's comment about "class warfare" very interesting. I wondered for a moment if it's really about "class", or does it include - by extention - race? A quick glance at the Forbes 400 list reveals an awful lot of white people on that list. So, is 'spreading the wealth' about helping others, or is it more about punishing the "rich white people" that Rev. Wright complained about in his "church"?

Susan - I'd gladly debate trickle down economics with Cory the well driller. Certainly we're all glad and greatful for individuals like Cory who own and operate businesses and provide employment to others.
But lets not forget, we have bills to pay in this country. We all want nice roads to drive down and enough law enforcement officials to keep us safe. That stuff doesn't pay for itself. Taxes are required. And logically, who are we going to take taxes from - the more rich or the more poor??
I still this entire "spread the wealth" stuff is just a political tactic. We're alreading "spreading the wealth" - that is what taxes are!
Neither side of this debate can really point to any concrete examples of where Obama wants to spread the wealth.
Determining national tax policy is well above the pay grade of this well driller, quite clearly. Political philosophy is also high above what this man is qualified to speak on. He should stick to running his water pumping business, or if he does want his voice heard on taxing policy, get involved himself. This one-sided trashing of Obama might get him riled up, but it is ultimately nothing but complaint. censored

I'm so confused by this debate. Cory speak about how hard it was for him when he didn't make any money, wouldn't it have been easier for him if he had paid less taxes then and the guys who owned businesses paid a little more?
Also, people getting themselves in huge amounts of consumer debt when they have low incomes is exactly why we are in the current economic downturn. I don't think taking out $150,000 in cash advances is good advice for struggling workers.
Considering now, through his own hard work, he runs 4 businesses and don't YOU think he deserves to enjoy the fruits of HIS hard labor? Or would suggest others get to leech off of him now that he HAS worked hard enough to be successful.

As I've said one thousand times - how about we WAIT until he's president and see what he actually proposes. The republicans STILL have the ability to stop legislation from moving forward. Don't you worry, any attempt by Obama and Congress to raise taxes on working Americans will be viewed skeptically in light of HIS words. I am sure there will be attempts to stop him, whether or not they will be successful remains to be seen.
The reason conclusions have been jumped to over HIS words, are due to the FACT that he was a known member of the Socialist New Party and has been indoctrinated into the radical ideals of Socialism and Marxism his whole life and chose his friends accordingly.
Unfortunately for him, he will continue to be judged by the company he kept, Angry, and unfortunately for us he can not be trusted. Sorry to have to say that again.

That there are Cory Millers out there who are upset about last week's election results, my advice is to get over it. Exit polls showed that 52% of people earning over $200,000 voted Obama verses 46% for McCain. What we need is a counter point letter from one of the 52% explaining their reasoning. If Mr. Miller's only concern is taxes, he is doing a lot better than most. As to Obama's philosophies, Cory should get his information from Obama and not his critics.

Thank you for your comment about our country today. I have been an entrepreneur my entire life. Started my first business at 19 (dialup internet service), made some money and sold it. The government took 30% of that income from me on income taxes after struggling for 5 years to earn over 50K per year. Later I became employed by a technology firm where I eventually became the CTO after five years and I make a descent living. I am too an avid do-it yourselfer and just fabbed up a drilling rig from design plans for my own well on my own property. I am right there with you on the struggles of being self employed, being in debt and feeling guilty about not having enough money for your own health insurance or pay raises for employees who probably deserve more... Best of luck to you. BTW, your mud pump is incredible. I'm stuck with a 192GPM 6.5HP pump w/ a 1.5" swivel on my rig for a 200' well on my DIY design.
Best of luck with everything. You are the reason America is unique and prosperous long-term. Lets hope people wake up and vote for their liberties instead of handouts.
