YOU SHOULDN'T BE THAT SURPRISED AT EITHER THE WAY TEACHERS TRY TO PUSH THEIR BELIEFS ON STUDENTS OR THAT NO ONE BARELY EVEN CARES ABOUT IT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A LONG TIME AND ALTHOUGH I LIKE YOU WOULD BE VERY, VERY PISSED NO ELSE SEEMS TO BE. IT IS UNFORTUNATELY A SIGN OF THE TIMES WE LIVE IN.

Yes, it seems thre is more disussion on whether 9 yrs should still believe in Santa rather than the bigger issue of what is the schools responsibility vs what is the parents responsibility.

Human beings interacting with other human beings, that's what school is all about.
On the one hand, you want no beliefs present at all being imparted from the school to the children, yet conservatives also want school prayer, the pledge of allegiance and the teaching of non-scientific theories about the origins of life.
make up your minds.
