I saw the NBC stuff, and couldn't get too worked up over it.
I think Hugh's just jealous because the kid didn't send it to Fox.
Hugh doesn't work for Fox Greg, watch it, your paranoia is showing through.
As I said in my post, 5 kids were already arrested with their plans already "in the works" and to give the air time and show the video, I believe, will just encourage more people to follow through with their threats...after all, if they do.... they will have their picture and words in the media.
I think it sets a dangerous precedent and encourages even MORE copy cats.

Also lets not forget, the families and survivors are canceling NBC interviews because of the airing of the video, WAPO is coming out against it, NYT, other media sources.
Lets assume for one crazy second the media sources are coming out against the airing of the video, because of jealousy.

The videos of Seung-hui Cho, the man who fatally shot 32 people at Virginia Tech on Monday and then killed himself, shouldn't have been released because they don't offer the public any greater understanding of the gruesome crime, said Michael Welner, a forensic psychiatrist and ABC News consultant, on "Good Morning America" today.
"If anybody cares about the victims in Blacksburg and if anybody cares about their children, stop showing this video now. Take it off the Internet. Let it be relegated to YouTube," Welner said. "This is a social catastrophe. Showing the video is a social catastrophe."

Welner believes that instead of offering insight, these videos merely offer validation of delusional behavior.
"I think that's very important for the viewing audience to understand. This is not him.These videos do not help us understand him. They distort him. He was meek. He was quiet. This is a PR tape of him trying to turn himself into a Quentin Tarantino character," Welner said. "This is precisely why this should not be released. Parents, you should cut the pictures out of the newspaper. Do not let your children see it. Take them out of the room when these videos are shown. Because he's paranoid and his agenda of blaming the rest of the world is unedited."
"There's nothing to learn from this except giving it validation. If this rambling showed up in an emergency room, my colleagues and I would listen carefully and, when we reflected that it was delusional, would go see the next patient and start the medication," he said. "This makes it sound like he was tormented. He wasn't."
Read the rest for those that doubt that NBC made a critically stupid, repulsive and dangerous move in airing the video.
There have been a lot of 'copycat' kids planning 'Columbine' style shoot ups too, and no video was aired of that one. Blaming NBC for the examples you cite is ridiculous.
It's an unfortunate aspect of today's society that almost any evil spawns copycat behavior. Remember Son of Sam?
And I do know that Hugh doesn't work for Fox- I was implying that had they aired the video, right wing reaction would've been muted (and predictably Huffpo would've gone bananas).
In your opinion maybe, but THIS right wing blog would have come down even HARDER on Fox had they been stupid and dangerous enough to air something that even shrinks say is catastrophic Greg.
Never try to "assume" what right wing blogs will or will not do, because YOUR liberal leanings preclude you from understanding us, as usual.

YES, Digital Traveler, the answer is so OBVIOUS, the GUNS did it. They got up on their own and started firing, with no one weilding them or reloading them. They're horrible, evil things that are intent on doing nothing but destroying.
