I agree and OPFOR deserves all the credit. I posted about it because the more that spread the actual news, the more people see that the Iraqi's are caring, generous people that appreciate America and what we are doing for them.

The milibloggers are great about seeing the Iraqi's as people.Its the media that tries to avoid that basic fact.

Spree, this is why I love your blog. What a great story and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I know I've been top heavy on the idea that "Muslims are people too" and we shouldn't lump them all in the same category as terrorists, and this is a perfect example of that. When my husband was in Iraq for a year with the 82nd ABN, he told me stories of normal, every day Iraqis, Muslims, who are just like us. They wanted to raise their children, love their wives and have a good life.

As we can see, they have compassion as well. They don't get paid very much so this is a HUGE gesture on their parts.

While the lamestream media is asleep at the wheel, the "new" media gets the message and reports it.

Let us not forget the military either. While most people regard them as prosecuters of warfare, they are also ambassadors of good will from the American people.
