Everything is above Obama's pay grade! Why? Michelle Obama would be running the country as his top No.1 advisor. I'm sure he would find some illegal way to put her on the payroll. Obama is the worst, pathological liar this World has seen in a long time and to think he wants to be World Leader!!! HELP! For sure with Obama as he said himself, "the Devil is in the Details." Yes, the Devil is in Obama's details, coming and going.

Yes... they are flying to his defense by claiming that McCain had the questions in advance. As I stated in another post... people who are for Obama and realize that he didn
’t do well at this debate are grasping at straws in order to find some reason McCain looked better than Obama and since there really isn’t a reason that sits well for Obama, people are claiming foul play.
I do have a question, you state that"the answers to the individual questions were taken from the transcript provided at the Warren site, which may not be in final form yet". Does that mean it may not be correct? I am liking to it and want to do a comparison of my own but I'm wondering about this disclaimer... what does it mean?

"Above my pay grade" as the President?
Nobody here at Wake Up America has to worry about an Obama presidency any longer.
His political career just ended. Understand what's going on here. Obama's performance was miserable. Party leaders are now openly questioning him a week before the convention. Denver is gearing up for riots, and in front of the entire nation, the Clinton plan to have Obama step down for the "good of the party" is underway.
The events of the last week have convinced me more than ever that Obama will not be the nominee. The Clintons will take the question to the floor, and they will outmanuever him. When Obama sees how narrow his base is, he will step out of the way.
Hillary will be the nominee. Not Obama. Count on it.
It will forever fracture the party. McCain will win in a landslide.
Watch the insanity begin.

Bug... it means that it was transcribed by computer I think, which means that certain words, or grammatical errors will be found, but the answers are correct as were given.
Read the Warren site above the start of each transcript, it tells you where the transcripts came from and how they are formatted

Lightwave I sure hope you are right. I don't want Clinton to have a chance for it either. She should have done her homework and not lied either with that stupid story about running for cover under fire. Those two are crazy. I have no use for the Demorats in any way shape form or fashion. All of them are poor losers big time. The Dems are losers alright and I am so glad to see the party go down. It's full of rotten evil greed, insider trading and dirty deals. Pelosi leading the pack and Obama following along like a sheep to the slaughter. Pelosi's panties are in a wad and full of it. MO'S ARE EVEN FULLER. This is too funny and will be fun to watch - from a distance. The hand writing is on the wall, it's all over for Obama but the shouting. Denver better be prepared for anything, as it will be dangerous at that Godless convention.
McCain really showed Obama up, proving BHO is not fit for President or Senator. Yet Obama claims he knows it all. Such an arrogant pos.

That's a very good point, Susan. Obama likes to use his "I oppposed the war from the beginning" and he didn't cast a vote. He has opposed troop funding but did not cast a vote in opposition to the war.
It points to his inexperience because he was only in the State Senate in 2003. This guy is still wet behind th ears!

I wonder how Obama will spin this. He didn't fail, but his answers were flat. He was speaking to a target audience and he missed the target.
McCain scored bull's eye after bull's eye with the target audience. His answers were truthful and to the point.
And notice how he called it Islamo-fascism.

This forum moderated by Rick warren displayed Obama's inexperience, lack of patriotism, and uber liberal values.
He sounded like his wife, another anti-American associate in his life.
How anyone that cares about this country would vote for him is beyond me.
One point about Susan's post here quoting Obama's answer regarding the gut wrenching question.
Obama did not say his "vote" against the Iraq war, he said "opposition" against the war. Minor point because as you repeated he wasn't in the Senate. It was an obvious play on America's disgust over the war in Iraq.
Keep up the good fight and spread the word!

When it comes to authentic, McCain
was at this non-debate. Obama danced
around so many questions. He did not
even use one of the choices that Rev.
Ric stated about evil. Obama chose
confront and brought in Sudan/Afric
and City streets in our Country. McCain did choose one of the four
choices by Rev. Ric. DEFEAT Evil.
And then discussed Radical Islamic
Extremists...good answer considering
these guys think if the become a zero

what.
Obama did poorly compared to McCain.
McCain stayed on topic and went to action right away with good answers.

Explain the conundrum between a murderer being prosecuted under Laci's law and a mother murdering her child in utero. One is prosecuted, one isn't, the crime is the same--a dead baby.
Now, McCain isn't the only one making this assertion--science does as well. Get off your ignorance and find some facts for a change.

Abortion is a tragedy but it will happen with or without laws. We need to to do everything possible to prevent unwanted pregnancies. The affluent will always be able to get an abortion, the poor will go back to coat hangers.

Are you going to answer the question regarding the conundrum of Laci's law or are you going to spin the abortion rationalization? How about BHO's born alive infant protection act--and his refusal to allow born alive infants to live? Quit the spin--and answer the questions.
Towards preventing unwanted pregnancies--show me an abstinence program that's worked or pregnancy rates that are low anywhere in secular society--you know, where there's no God or morals? It ain't gonna happen and to buy that lie is ridiculous.

The left is saying that if Obama doesn't get the nomination there will be riots in the streets of America. So let them riot. This isn't Kenya, rioting will not force America to back down. It will only destroy what remains left in their neighborhoods.
Barry is right about abortion. It is time we stop teaching abstinence and start teaching responsibility. Abstinence has not worked, and neither have daily protests in front of Abortion clinics. It is time that both goes and an new tactic start.

Absolutely Katie and I agree there needs to be some education--but parroting the Obama line doesn't address the actual issue(s) and those are 1) responsibility for one's actions; 2) accountability for one's actions; and 3) respect for oneself and your partner. Those three things apply whether you are 15 or 50 and it's really easy to promote there's a "cure" for "mistakes" instead of raising responsible citizens who are willing to step up to the plate and say I did it. Even promoting "responsible" and "safe" sex hasn't cut the transmission of STD's because no one wants to take responsibility for their actions and the potential consequences of those actions.
And you can't mandate responsible behavior--just not possible in a free society such as ours. But teaching responsibility at home from the time a child can focus--that's where the education begins, the beginning of self respect, respect for others and the beginning of responsibility and accountability. Sadly, that has been lacking for far too many years.
Kids are going to be kids in the back seats of cars--adults are not going to think--but somehow, those things need to come back into society--respect, responsibility and accountability. As well as viable, workable alternatives for children who are not wanted. We have something here in Tucson called safe child--they are safe "drop off" zones for children and parents have up to 30 days from birth to drop off children--no questions asked. It's actually been very successful and the children are adopted out to loving homes--not abandoned or aborted. It was kind of iffy at first, but has been overall successful.

Give Obama credit: In a church, sitting across from a pastor and in front of an audience that likely included many Christians or so-called Christians, he lied about his vote on Iraq, mocked when he thought life actually begins and played the mommy-grandmommy card as to his biggest advisers.
And this guy actually still thinks that America will elect him to be CEO of our country and CINC of our Armed Forces?
Given his performance Saturday night, added to how he's been performing overall, he'll be lucky to even get nominated in Denver.

I agree with you Miss Beth. And this is not the forum for a debate on abortion.
My kids think Obama did well, but they forget that he wasn't speaking to his followers at this forum. He was trying to convince Evangelicals to vote for him. In that he was found very lacking.
McCain came off as very Presidential. In some ways he reminded me of Ronald Reagan when he answered questions with stories from his past. It made him look more normal and non-elite.
I almost choked on my coffee when Obama was talking about being saved. He was really laying it on thick.

LOL Katie--I've had to do some serious screen clean-up lately from spewing my coffee at this clown...surprised I haven't ruined my computer!
That was one of the things I LOVED about Reagan--his ability to connect with the "common man" on the street with stories of how things affected him and what made him think of this, that or the other. It DID make him look not only as if he was leader material, but also that he could connect. McCain also has that quality.
Now, I'm not saying McCain is my favorite person in the world, but it DOES appear as if he's listening to his advisors who are listening to the people. He can think on his feet and can take charge of a situation when needed (i.e., his response to the Georgia/Russia matter). He doesn't need a teleprompter, yet he doesn't need to be scripted--he comes across as genuine rather than grasping and gasping. Thoughtful yet focused on the questions, not on how he's going to spin something.
I of course and THRILLED about his pro-life stance and something which has been buried for a while--the fact embryonic stem cell research is pretty much a thing of the past with the adult cell research going on and the success of same. Of course he can't overturn Roe all by himself, and I don't see that ever being over-turned. However, I do see him extending that pro-life value into more than abortion--end of life issues also qualify as pro-life. Things such as the Schiavo matter as well. I see our treasured elderly being protected under McCain while I don't see that protection extended under BHO--in fact, I have a chilling vision he'll enact legislation such as the Netherlands have about euthanasia for those deemed no longer necessary. Frightening scenario and who makes that decision? Can you see McCain's mother (feisty lady that she is) being deemed unnecessary and euthanized?
Surprisingly, I feel McCain might, MIGHT actually be a decent leader-and certainly a FAR cry better than BHO and BHO has sunk himself.

re abortion--the one mistake pro-life people make is that they let the pro-abortion people consistently hide the fact that they are pro partial birth abortion---that thanks to clinton's veto we have yet to be able to stop even something so horrible--the make the abortion debate sound like for or against and they always go to the coat hanger example--REALITY needs to be injected--the democrats are far more than pro abortion especially obama--his comment "I want to reduce abortions" is just the usual b.s.---anyone can say that---he votes for partial birth abortions and live birth "abortion" (those shouldn't even be called abortions--IT HAS TO BE HIGHLIGHTED AND WE HAVE TO ESTABLISH BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS AT LEAST FOR VIABLE BABIES AS A FIRST STEP

Did you know that in Israel they do bone marrow transplants using blood instead of the bone marrow. It seem that all they need are the stem cells from the host and they can get them from the blood.
When I miscarried this last time a few years ago, my doctor asked me if it was ok to use the fetus for stem cell research. Both my hubby and I said yes. It wasn't an aborted fetus and maybe it would help save a life. Plus fetuses taken from miscarriages are better for the research I found out.
There are times I know that someone would wish to end their suffering. That is why I have a living will. Without it the answer to euthanasia should always be no.
What I heard on Saturday night makes me very proud to be a McCain supporter and to fear an Obama presidency even more.

Oh Katie, I'm so sorry about your miscarriage--so heartbreaking. I'm glad you and your husband came to that decision. To me, it would be akin to donating organs so others could live (I'm an organ donor--whatever works and someone can use, they are welcome to!).
I have a very specific end of life document which is much more than a living will and was a result of Terry Schiavo--until that time, I wasn't really aware of all the issues surrounding "pulling the plug" so to speak, so mine is VERY specific. Again, a matter of responsibility. I think euthanasia is a complete abomination.
I was a total McCain supporter in 2000 and was really upset when he bowed out to Bush. I'm still not thrilled with his immigration stance, but overall, I'm much more comfortable with him than I will EVER be with BHO or HRC. For one thing, what you can definitely say about McCain is he says what's on his mind, and lets the chips fall where they will. He doesn't pander. I DO wish he'd get a speech coach, though, to teach him how to speak publicly and charismatically rather than putting people to sleep--if he could do that, he'd be even more formidable against BHO!

These false accusations of cheating by the Obama camp just shows what a lack of character these sore losers have. Obama has been getting a free pass from the beginning of the primaries. Obama looked like the rank inexperienced amateur that he is in the Saddleback debate ... while McCain looked decisive and competent. The election is only about 70 days from now, and if Obama hasn't already come up with positions on these crucial questions by now, he is certainly not qualified to be President of the United States. Crying and accusations of cheating because Obama lost the debate, only makes Obama look smaller and less deserving of the office.

Hi

First of all it wasn't a debate, so neither person won or lost. However, I would bet my bottom dollar if you took the answers of Mccain and Obama and reversed them Mccain would not get nearly as blasted as Obama has here, not even close. Mccain has had some seriously ridiculous and alarming answers to questions as well through out this campaign, however, because Obama is under the microscope if he makes one slip up its considered a disaster of epic proportions.
Compared to Obama, McCain is living on easy street. He is the stand up all American War hero with plenty of political experience on his resume. Compared on paper, McCain should win by a landslide. However, he isn't, and here is why.
First, I think people in this country want out of this war. We cannot afford it, it is not in our best interests, and it is costing American lives. Mccain said he is willing to commit another 100 years if thats what it takes to win this war. And he wants to do it while lowering taxes. I'm sorry but that is no formula that will help this country improve. For those of you who need a quick lesson on economics that formula weakens our currency and raises prices. Which is exactly what we are seeing right now as a result the Bush campaign and it is also one of the big reasons why the economy is taking a crap.
Also, lets be real, it was a huge mistake in the first place invading Iraq. We basically invaded the enemy of our enemy. Al Quida attacked us and then we respond by invading THEIR biggest enemy and threat, Saddam and the Iraqi army. Saddam is a bastard yes, but he neutralized terrorists in that region and was no clear threat to our country so, horay, genius thinking by the Republican party.
What they don't tell you is that the real reason we invaded Iraq was for special interests and to control the region. If you look at a map Iraq is strategically located between several oil and terrorist rich countries, a perfect place to set up camp for monitoring and control in that region. But at what cost? I think many politicians and people who recognize this are coming to realize the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
Another reason Obama is going to win is because he is much better for our global image than McCain is. In the last 8 years our country has fell from the icon of the world to what the hell are they thinking? Obama is better suited to restore our global image and leadership in the world. Lets face it, McCain is looked at as another Bush, pretty much because he is. Their policies are identical and both favor special interests. We made a mistake electing Bush for a second term lets not elect his fellow comrade for a third.
Lastly, I think Obama will win because too many people in this country are looking for change. Many people are scared because they are loosing their jobs and homes, and because things are very unstable right now. As a result, many are looking for a new kind of leadership in the White House. And Obama represents that new kind of leadership.
I do disagree with Obama on a couple things, which includes the abortion issue, and offshore drilling. However, when everything is weighed, Obama will do better for this country than McCain. Nancy Pelosi said it well, after Obama wins this election, our country will improve because the people's interest will be served, not the special interest.

There is talk, coming from the Obama campaign, that McCain cheated and knew the questions. I think the more important issue here is that McCain knew the answers. When it comes to knowing where our moral compasses point, I think when asked these types of questions, we should all know the answers. There shouldn't be any wavering or searching for the "correct" way to phrase it. It is what it is! Most of us know right from wrong and will choose right every time!!

As an Obama supporter I totally agree McCain did very well. He exceeded ALL expectations. He did much better than even his supporters thought he could do.
But here's why?
If SADDLEBACK was supposed to be a fair forum, then why were the questions posed in different ways?
Question 1 to Obama began with a very important Christian preamble about leadership and listening.
"THESE FIRST SET OF QUESTIONS DEAL WITH YOUR PERSONAL LIFE AS A LEADER AND I'M NOT GOING TO DO THIS WITH ANY OTHER SEGMENT, BUT AS PASTOR I'VE GOT SOME VERSES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH LEADERSHIP. THE FIRST ISSUE IS THE AREA OF LISTENING. THERE IS A VERSUS IN PROVERBS THAT SAYS "FOOLS THINK THEY NEED NO ADVICE BUT WISE LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE". WHO ARE THE THREE WISEST PEOPLE YOU KNOW IN YOUR LIFE AND WHO ARE YOU GOING TO RELY ON HEAVILY...(pause) IN YOUR ADMINISTRATION?"
The preamble was designed to engage a more Chrisitan response and not a policy driven stump speech. Obama's response was therefore more personal and less political.
Mccain's Question 1 omitted the verses proverb and made NO mention of what Rick would do as a pastor. His question was intended as a political question and NOT a personal one. Don't belief me? Check Obama's first question from Rick Warren on 'youtube'. The "in your administration" came after a longer pause, to imply it's unimportance.
McCain's seemingly similar question 1 was directly related to politics. Therefore demanding a more political answer.
McCain wasn't told about the 'good person listens to advice' rhetoric that Obama had. Instead his Q was on leadership.
McCain's Q1:
WELCOME BACK TO THE SADDLEBACK CIVIL FORUM ON THE PRESIDENCY AND WELCOME SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN. NOW MY FIRST QUESTION WAS THE CONE OF SILENCE COMFORTABLE THAT YOU WERE IN JUST NOW? (McCain): I WAS TRYING TO HEAR THROUGH THE WALL.
Q. OKAY. THIS FIRST SET OF QUESTIONS DEALS WITH LEADERSHIP AND THE PERSONAL LIFE OF LEADERSHIP. FIRST QUESTION IS WHO WERE THE THREE WISEST PEOPLE THAT YOU KNOW THAT YOU WOULD RELY ON HEAVILY IN AN ADMINISTRATION?
There was NO pause at "in an administration". Also using the word 'an' instead of 'your' becomes a political viewpoint. This is only relevant because the preamble requires the answer to be more direct and less personal. In contrast to how Obama's question was phrased.
The candidates were also told not to roll out the usual 'stump speeches' in answering questions. McCain did not comply with this request.
Did McCain receive the questions first? who knows?
Was McCain's questions tailored to suit ? more than likely.
Was McCain truthful when he asked about his liking of the cone of silence? Undoubtedly not.
Did McCain do better than Obama? without question.
Did McCain plagiarize his 'cross in the sand' story from Alexander Solzhenitsyn, to which he had written about extensively? more than likely
Did Mccain cheat on his first wife after she was recovering from a car accident? yes
Will McCain make a better President than Obama?
Absolutely NOT.

Funny isn't it, and typical?
I make a valid or at the least an argumentative point regarding the forum in question and your insults are directed at me personally instead of addressing the issues that I raised. Why is that?
Is it easy to challenge the messenger, rather than the message?
That's what this election has been about. Obama can only lose this election because Republicans are making this about Obama vs Obama, rather than McCain vs Obama. If it were about the latter McCain wouldn't stand a prayer.
But unlike you backward, uneducated warmongering fools let me address the criticisms of Redhawk and Miss Beth succinctly so there is no mis-understanding.
1. As a matter of fact, the present UK Labour Government have long since parted from their Socialistic base. Like most modern parties they have shifted to the centre of the political quondam. Very much like McCain and in less part Obama has.
2. With all the problems we have with the NHS (National Health Service) at least we have one. Also, UK citizens are not required to show their credit worthiness upon arriving at a hospital should they become valetudinarian.
3. The USA citizen value system is predicated on the premise that should you speak up, you must be deemed unpatriotic. What a load of nonsense. Freedom of Speech should mean 'Freedom of Speaking Whatever One Wants" Instead it means "Just so long as you don't say anything detrimental about the USA"... Give me a break.
4. Independent freedoms? are you kidding me? The rule of law is that all persons should be presumed innocent. Unless of course they happen to be in Guantamo. Where all freedoms and rights are disposed of. At least your Supreme Court is beginning to understand this basic tenet, which most modern democracies adhere too.
5. Your understanding of Muslim laws is limited by your bigotry towards Islam, just admit it. The creators of your foreign policy helped to create the distance you now find yourself with other nation states. Are you guys intent on fighting everyone?
911 was a tragedy, and I too lost relatives in the WTC but the correct war was Afghanistan which amazingly now BOTH of our governments are now realizing and turning their attentions to.
6. The UK does not presently have record high unemployment. Where are you getting your statistics from ? Rush Limbaugh? That might explain a lot.
7. Moral Terpitude? CLUELESS !! The correct spelling is 'turpitude'. Didn't you finish your education? You must be referring to the various positions perpetrated adopted by the current US and UK administration. Yes, that's right. The UK is not blameworthy in that regard. But aren't you guys meant to set the bar?
8. Are you attempting to educate me by directing me to a far right website? What is it you think I would learn? how to ignore the truth. As a practicing Barrister for 15 years my views are not swayed by far-left or far-right positions. I make my judgments on substantive evidence. Something either of you fail to examine.
9. Lastly, reserved just for you Miss Beth. A conspiracy theory attributes the ultimate cause of an event or chain of events (usually political, social or historical), or the concealment of such causes from public knowledge, to a secret and often deceptive plot by a group of powerful or influential people or organizations. As this was a televised forum this could hardly be considered the former. This was blatant, and in your face corrupt TV.
The doltishness of your rhetoric uncovers more than your disregard to confront the factuality of the event.
As stated, Mccain did very well, but the old codger had extensive help.
But don't let your fellow Americans down !!
Vote Obama (you know you want to)

Edit that UK Marcus off the site, YEA! He's a loser and dumber than dirt and is doing the same on IAC. This convention is going to be rough with the lefties playing dirty tricks. I understand McCain will be parked right out side taking interviews on all the lies of Obama and Clinton. Good for McCain, you go and you're the MAN! What a nasty ugly acting bunch of ill raised libs and now we'll all get to see these freaky folks all in the same place. Not me, I have no time for that communist convention or listen to the mafia media. OBAMA SUCKS! Obama is a poor loser, and it shows. BO ' Baby Daddy' can't take it. Ha!
