The Moonbats are screaming that this is a political prosecution, that Spitzer had made far too many enemies on Wall Street and in Washington.
I say "How stupid could this man be?" If he really was on the hit list of the GOP, the Bush Administration's Justice Department, and Wall Street bankers...why would he then do something so blatantly idiotic and set up what would of had to be a reason for his resignation?
There's nobody to blame but Spitzer himself, and I have no sympathy for the man. The DoJ has him dead to rights.
And somehow remember it's the Republicans who supposedly operate like they are above the law?
Exhibit A on this point that the Democrats are just as corrupt is Elliot Spitzer.
Spree, I am actually surprised that you would characterize his career as promising. Afterall, he's the guy who wanted to issue legal drivers licenses to illegal aliens. That position alone would have gotten him into trouble eventually, even in NY State.
As for this situation, Spitzer showed his arrogance and stupidity. I continue to be amazed at how people think they can get away with stuff like this. If nothing else, there is the Patriot Act and all of the financial monitoring provisions. Beyond that, moving someone across state lines is simply dumb.
But I don't think that making broad generalizations about corruption based on Spitzer's actions is at all appropriate (see above).
He'll resign before Thursday morning (that's what all of the reports are saying now). He went after Joe Bruno, and now, without so much as a hearing, Spitzer loses it all over what? "IT" couldn't have been THAT good.
His drivers license debacle was damaging but not career ending and since he was a democrat, those were the democratic party's sentiments I was echoing, THEY considered him their shining star as many are putting it.
That star just burned out in a blaze of glory, so to speak.
He is the same slug who wanted to push legislation that would make it possible for girls as young as 12 to get abortions as late as full term. And that is without their parents being involved.
He is bought and paid for by the pro-abortionist.
I feel so sorry for his wife and kids. If I were her I would have packed my bags and the kids and told this jerk to go screw himself.

My only comment on this scumbag is that for the life of me I can not understand why his wife would stand with him on television. She looked like she was run over by a truck. God bless her and his daughters......but I hope the give him the max. He is nothing more than a scumbag that thinks he is above the law. If his family was smart, they would throw him right into the street and hit him over the head with his bags. He belongs in the gutter. Simple as that.
