Gravatar HOOAH!

Gravatar "Our enemy is Radical Extremist Fascist Islam."

Mussolini is credited with the concept of fascism, which he said should more accurately be called corporatism: a merging of corportate and state interests.

So, how are Islam and fascism connected?

Gravatar get your head out of your ass

Gravatar Winnie dear, quit trying to play disingenuous...you know damn good and well how islam and fascism are connected and if you don't start reading the articles posted all over the blogosphere.

and if you don't like capitalism, it's because you've obviously failed miserably to make your millions and want to take your loser status out on everyone else

Gravatar trolls...not worth spit

Gravatar You know, I usually try very, very hard not to get into "personal spats" on here because it's just not something we normally condone.

That being said...

Winston, you play far too ignorant to come across as such. You and your ilk, those who should KNOW BETTER but do otherwise, are the ones most endangering our nation as a whole with your "head in the sand" attitude, "leave them alone and they'll leave us alone."

Were we in Afghanistan or Iraq on 9/11?

No.

What in the BLUE HELL makes you people think that we can just simply walk away from it and it will be over?

Or do ya'll WANT them to come over here again?

Gravatar That's just it, Hawk..they truly do want another 9/11--once wasn't enough, they NEED to be reminded...and then, they'll scream no one was protecting them and why didn't we do more. There simply is no pleasing them because they hate themselves, they hate the country, they just plain hate.

Gravatar Then they need to leave.

The sooner, the better.

Gravatar No, Hawk, we weren't in Afghanistan nor Iraq (which had nothing to do with 9/11) then.

We did our part to get the Soviets bogged down in Afghanistan and then trained, armed and financed a radicalize Islamic movement against them. Afterward, the US angered these radicals, including OBL, by maintaining a military base on their sacred soil, promulgated by an American lie: that Saddam had troops massed on the Saudi border. And, we think they hate us because we own our own homes? I don't think so.

There are those out there that hate us, that wish us ill, that plot and attack us. Was invading the wrong country on false premises and making their sad lives even worse part of any solution? No.

Want to reduce Islamic terrorism? Focus on the Taliban in Afghanistan, AQ in Pakistan and Wahabbists in Saudi Arabia.

Gravatar So, AQ doesn't exist in Iraq and, even though the alleged lie has been disproved repeatedly, there were no WMD's in Iraq and Saddam was a nice guy, is that what you think? They haven't been trying for this for over 30 years, since the Carter administration and the original taking of the Iranian hostages (of which ah-ma-dinner-jacket wasn't one?), the bombings of the embassies, the Cole, ad nauseum? This is just an out of the blue war that we just woke up one morning and decided to wage?

Grow up.

AQ IS and HAS BEEN in Iraq, there WERE WMD's, we should have finished off Saddam in 1991 but the UN tied GB I's hands (gotta love the UN), we have been attacked repeatedly and its time to finish the job once and for all. If you can't stomach it, then just shut up and let the real men and women, those that have a clue and understand what's going on in the world, handle it for you. You go crawl back into your crib and let the oh-so-competent entitlement Congress/Libs/Dems take care of you.

Gravatar Here's a little FACTOID for you, jack, bin Laden is a SAUDI, he's not ever FROM Afghanistan.

This goes right back to exactly what I said about people like you FAILING to comprehend that this WHOLE thing extends beyond national borders. It's an ideology that we're fighting, and the followers of it, NOT any one nation.

As to Iraq? Intelligence agencies from more than one country indicated weapons of mass destruction in Iraq months before we attacked. Saddam had more than ample time to move anything he didn't want found to Syria, Lebanon, or anywhere else that he could send it for friendly factions to hide or distribute it.

Do I want to reduce Islamic terrorism? I certainly do, and I'd love to see us dive in full force committed to do exactly that, leaving none of them left alive to threaten us.

Gravatar Amen Hawk

Gravatar Gratzi

Gravatar Spree I just sent you a copy of a letter I sent to cair...it's not at all nice

Gravatar Iraq was giving medical aid as well as a safe haven to Zarqawi (is that how to spell his name? One too many beers here) which is why even HILLARY stated publicly that Iraq did indeed, aid al-Qaeda BEFORE 9/11, even if it wasn't aiding in the attack.

http://www.rogerlsimon.com/mt-ar.../ before_911.php

Baghdad, 23 May - (Aki) - "Al-Qaeda's number two man, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, visited Iraq under a false name in September 1999 to participate in the 'Ninth Islamic People's Congress'": revealed former Iraqi Premier, Iyyad Allawi, to the Arab daily, "Al-Hayat". The Shiite political figure supplied to the newspaper certain information discovered by the Iraqi Secret Service in the archives of the previous regime which clarify the ties between Saddam Hussein and Islamic terrorist organizations. "Al-Zawahiri was summoned by Izza Ibrahim Al-Douri," said Allawi, "[who at the time] was vice president of the Council of the Direction of the Revolution, in order to participate in the congress along with 150 Islamic authorities coming from 50 Islamic countries."

According to Allawi important information was also gathered about the presence of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi['s presence] in the country. "The Jordanian Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi secretly entered Iraq in the same period," he affirmed, "and began to form a terrorist cell, although the [Iraqi Secret] Service did not have precise information about his entry into the country."

These revelations were released only following those made by the Jordanian king, Abdallah II (also to "Al-Hayat,") concerning the refusal on the part of Saddam to transfer Zarqawi to authorities in Amman. Regarding those revelations, Allawi said: "The words of the Jordanian king are precise and important. We have proven [the fact of] the Zawahiri's visit to Iraq, but we do not have the exact date of Zarqawi' entry into the country, even though it probably took place during the same period."

According to the ex-Iraui premier, Saddam's government would have thus sponsored the birth of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, as well as coordinating other terrorist groups, be they Islamic or Arab. "The Iraqi Secret Service had communications with these groups through someone named Faruq Hajizi," Allawi continued, "who was the ambassador to Turkey and was then arrested after the fall of Saddam's regime while trying to sneak into Iraq. The Iraqi Secret Services were helping the terrorists enter Iraq and taking them to the Ansar Al-Islam camps in the Halbija. area." In sum, the ex-premier maintains that Saddam's government also tried to involve Abu Nidal in its terrorist network, and his refusal to cooperate with the Islamist groups became his death sentence, which was carried out in the summer of 2002.

Winnie, try learning history BEFORE opening your mouth, Iraq may not have participated in 9/11 but they WERE a country that supported al-Qaeda by sponsoring terror.

I despise intellectual dish

Gravatar To finish what got cut off. I despise intellectual dishonesty and if you cannot admit to what has already been DOCUMENTED, then your comments are no longer debate, but you are trying to LIE, which is completely unacceptable.

Gravatar What you said Spree!

Gravatar Another factoid...I was in Tajikistan on 91101.

Gravatar To complete the thought because I hit publish before I meant to...hehe

We have documented the "ties" between al-Qaeda and Iraq in multiple posts...copies of checks from Saddam to suicide bombers families, medical records on Zawqawi from Iraq BEFORE 9/11 and much much more.

They did not, that we know of, participate in 9/11 attacks, but they sponsored terror which IF you bothered to read the original authorization to attack Iraq, WAS one of the key factors.

http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree....-from- left.html

http://www.husseinandterror.com/

Try actually READING the Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/r...20021002- 2.html

In it you will find 7 reasons not discussed by the intellectually dishonest for our actions in iraq...please notice number#1 and #2.... 1. Iraq's harboring of Al-Queda terrorists 2. Iraq's support for International Terrorism.

Says NOTHING about Iraq being behind 9/11 Winnie, that is a lie made up by your puppet masters to send you on a wild goose chase.

Here are the 7 reasons:

1. Iraq's harboring of Al-Queda terrorists
2. Iraq's support for International Terrorism
3. Iraq's "brutal repression" of its citizens
4. Iraq's failure to repatriate or give information on non-Iraqi citizens detained and captured during Gulf War I, including an American serviceman;
5. Failing to properly return property wrongfully seized during the Kuwait invasion
6. The attempted assassination of former President Bush in 1991
7. America's national security interests in restoring peace and stability to the Persian Gulf

1 and two have been documented, as well as stated PUBLICLY by the DEMOCRATIC politicians before we entered Iraq.

Get your head out Winnie and start trying to debate HONESTLY, or don't debate at all.

Gravatar Another factoid...trolls are allergic to history, unless they themselves rewrite it.

Gravatar It never ceases to amaze me that the Troll Brigades are brainwashed to the point that reason alludes them.

Their talking dulls have been so debunked so many times yet the SAME ones keep saying the SAME things.

Sheehan, for example. IT wants the P and VP impeached for what no one knows because they have done no unconstitutional acts and the constitution dictates that which they can be impeached for.

Trolls. Escapees from a sanatorium in Transylvania someplace.

Gravatar Spree, I have asked Libs on many occasions whether all 21 reasons listed for going to war with Iraq are "lies"....I have never received an answer. They get all confused when presented with reality.

Gravatar Yes, they do... they cannot debate facts, they have to resort to the lies that have shoved down their collective throats by the left liberal sites.

Gravatar They refuse to live in the land of reality.

Just today, I told my brother not to darken my doorstep ever again if he continued to insist billy boy was a great war president--this is the brother we've talked about before. Loons--all of them

Gravatar But they choose to believe a lie without even looking for another answer. It is very frustrating. I got into a discussion with a Lib regarding Dobson a while back. He was ranting about how Dobson was bad, blah blah blah and something about him being a pastor....when I corrected him that Dobson is not a pastor, but a psychologist he got this confused look on his face like I just told him there's no Santa Claus.

He was SO into his rant which was based on a falsehood it really rattled him.

Gravatar Of course they do NJ GOP, the will believe anything that matches their own political beliefs.

They never did care about truth. They care about politics and National Security be damned.

Another reason they have been known as weak on terror and national security and they always will be.

They believe, after multiple failed attempts, that appeasement works.

Gravatar I recently posted on some lib blog asking HOW in the heck do you "broker a peaceful solution" with people whose only objective in life is to murder those who disagree with them.

I got no reply (I guess you saw that coming).

Gravatar Yes, it certainly worked well for Neville Chamberland, didn't it?

Gravatar BTW, I apologize for my rudeness.

NJ GOP, welcome to Wake up America, make yourself at home and I hope we see you here more often :o)

Gotta make dinner, will comment again afterwards.

Gravatar Of course you got no reply, NJ, they can't answer anything that hasn't been issued by memo from the Mother Ship (Soros).

Glad to have you with us.

Gravatar As to the Dobson discussion, what part of DOCTOR James Dobson did he NOT understand? LOL

Gravatar The problem with the Lib I was talking to is that he was outraged that Dobson expresses an opinion on politics.

When I asked him why, as a private citizen should Dobson be censored he just kept going back to the whole Christian non-profit thing.

I kept pressing asking why should a private citizen psychologist not be allowed to speak he just got all flustered saying that he's going to demand that his church ban all literature that arrives from Focus on the Family ministries.

These people are all about censoring any dissenting opinion. Make no mistake.

Gravatar NJ!! Greetings!! Freedom of Speech to a Leftinistra is only acceptable when and if you believe as they do. Then and only then are to "free" to speak.

Gravatar You'll absolutely get no arguement from me on their desire for censorship. They would LOVE it if we had no forum at all to debate them, that's why they tried to shut us out of being able to contact our elected officials and have put such an attack on grass roots orginizations, threatening to put them in the "lobbyist" category.

Gravatar I've said it before and I'll say it again....our hope is in educating the next generation.

I am WAY behind in my annual nagging of the young people in my church to get registered to vote! I have a lot of catching up to do before they all leave for college.

Gravatar NJ, you are soooooooooo on target about educating the next generation! My oldest, thank goodness, is such a conservative it's not even funny--she's even started taking on her dad and stepsister, moonbats both.

I was shocked today by my 15yo (he hasn't been living at home)--he wanted to know how the blog is going and if there was anything he needed to know because school starts in less than a month! What a change around since April!

My youngest wanted me to get her online so she could see what all the commotion was about (she's 12).

I keep pinching myself, saying these are MY kids?????

Gravatar Wow Miss Beth.... you must have done a good job with them. My kids are in their 20s. I always say that it is our job to teach them HOW to think, not WHAT to think. I say that because I wanted them to question everything ... not accept anything at face value alone. All 3 are Republicans but only 1 remembered to vote (all you can do is try... sigh).

Gravatar Interesting that ya'll should bring education into the discussion, and teaching children HOW to think instead of WHAT to think.

I don't like to toot my own horn, but I did a piece about just this subject the other day... http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree....safe-to- go.html

Hopefully it set a few people to thinking...

Gravatar Believe me, NJ, my kids are demons in disguise! My oldest is 26--I guess right now she's watching me take on a lot of people so she can do the same for her kids (3 adorable darlings--i love grandkids!)

The two youngest go to charter school--I can't afford parochial school anymore. However, the school is still under the auspices of the school district/nea. The school DID NOT like what I told them as far as what my kids are allowed to learn and what they are forbidden to hear--and they didn't like it when I pulled the "accomodation" card out and played it. They have, however, complied--both because I know what I'm talking about in my demands and because I'm a paralegal. Of course my children just rolled their eyes at me with the huge sigh and an "MOM---leave it alone, would ya?" fight, but they are still getting an education on how to fight for your beliefs.

My son tested me one day, in the middle of WalMart--mom, Mrs. X (the principal) said she's a liberal and she's going to take the school in that direction. Mom (me) whips out her cell phone and calls the principal's cell phone--and leaves nasty conservative message. Found out son had actually distorted what principal said--in fact, just that day, principal had invited several members of the armed forces to give talks to the kids, had welcomed them to the campus and made it an all day deal. She did admit she was liberal--and always would be--but she also wanted the kids to get to know some troops, understand what went into being a soldier and learn firsthand, from the soldiers themselves, the pride and feelings that go with it. Ok..so she's a liberal, but she didn't disrespect the soldiers and encouraged the kids to spend some time with them and get over the spin they always hear.

What did i forbid them learning and insisted they be given alternate assignments? Soft theory evolution and demanded they be taught hard science (paleoanthropology is a hobby of mine and I've read and examined both the Origin of Species as well as Darwin's Black Book); global warming (mentioned glaciations and wurms); culteral diversity and revisionist history regarding the crusades; corrected the history teacher on his wording regarding the Protestant Movement and Catholic Reformation (he tried to say Protestant Reformation) as well as challenged his theology; anything to do with Islam; and they are not allowed to learn any sex ed until and unless I approve all the materials. I also insisted all correspondence to me be printed English first (it was being printed Spanish first), reminded them which country we live in (we're in Arizona) and if any religious group was going to be accomodated (prayer time a la muslim) then my children would get equal time for their Christian beliefs.

For some reason, they cringe when I call. But I have all the teacher's home phone numbers and for the most part, the staff is very friendly--and they have obeyed everything I demanded.

Gravatar NEA...the socialists of "pubic" education.

Gravatar I read that piece, Hawk--it was excellent, as always.

One thing the nuns taught me was question, question, question--and stand up for what you think is right.

My son is VERY formidable in any theological discussion--at 9 he taught his own First Communion class, was leading prayer groups (the next oldest was 13), preaching, was a Master Prayer Leader, a Mass Captain and a Thurifer--and was in the running to serve mass with JPII (midnight mass--only the best in the world were even in the running). It is HILARIOUS to watch him dissect other people's religious rantings...and just the rantings, he does respect viewpoints but doesn't tolerate nonsense.

Gravatar YO! They are mad because we are on Sacred Soil, did I hear that right?
And they are blowing up this Sacred Soil for who's benefit again?
You winnie had to watch too much of goofy.
In case you forget hussein was no saint when it came to terror harboring.
We will go after AQ NO matter where they are, or didn't you listen to President Bush.

Gravatar Hey Cassie, you heard right. Seems they tend to forget about the harboring terrorists aspect of the Joint Resolutions, as do our cowardly politicians.

Gravatar Yep, Cassie...and your question is SPOT ON...if the soil is sacred, why are they blowing it up? Yeah, I go around blowing up my sacred areas all the time!

Gravatar We have tolerated too much nonsense for the past few decades, Beth, I'd say since at least the end of the Korean conflict. That's why the left is so militant now, because we're not sitting idly by and just taking their crap any more. I think we've finally reached what Paul Harvey calls "the stomach turning point."

I only hope that the momentum continues and we silence this bunch of America-hating idiots once and for all in our life times.

Gravatar I read it Hawk. Very well said. I liked the part about public education being a "racket". It definitely is.

I know a guy who spent 30 yrs in a major corporation, and then went into teaching. He's been teaching now about 20 years and he's really so down to earth.

He told the funniest story about ADD. He said whenever he gets a kid who disrupts the class he puts him in the corner and tells him to count the little "holes" in the concrete block. Meanwhile, he keeps teaching. When the kid says "I'm done" the teacher asks "how many?" the kid gives a number and he says "that's wrong, count them again"...meanwhile he gets to teach the other kids uninterrupted. He says that usually "cures" the ADD.... we all laughed so hard and I still wonder if that is some sort of breakthrough therapy!!

Gravatar LOLOL

That's not what I call a breakthrough, that's what I call a return to "brass tacks."

OUTstanding

Gravatar NJ, I LOVE IT! When we were kids (and I admit I was major hyperactive) our parents threw us and our toys outside, locked the doors, and said come back when the street lights come on--we entertained ourselves and wore ourselves out.

Your friend seems to understand that concept quite well...good for him!

Gravatar Nope we shall not shut up, not this time. I'm tired of these nub@lls.
I'll tell you something else if these dopes expect to get elected then I think someone should tell them they have to protect the people, otherwise the only dimwits voting will be jihadists, illegals, muslims, & the cemetary votes.
As for clinton her & bill are making this into a d@mn sideshow with clown and all.

Gravatar Hi NJ, did not see you until now.
Glad your here.

Gravatar Love the debate here!!! And someone refresh my memory, isn't Winston actually LOC from harry reid's (small letters intentional!)home state????

Gravatar Spree, remember my comment about Bush's authoritarian leanings that you poo-pooed? Now there's this story about Bush's directive #51:

"As a member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., is permitted to enter a secure "bubbleroom'' in the Capitol and examine classified material. So he asked the White House to see the secret documents.

On Wednesday, DeFazio got his answer: DENIED.

"I just can't believe they're going to deny a member of Congress the right of reviewing how they plan to conduct the government of the United States after a significant terrorist attack,'' DeFazio said."

Note to the cyber pastor: I can affirm that Winston Smith isn't LOC, nor resides in Nevada.

Gravatar Oops, forgot the link to quoted story in last post.

http://www.newhouse.com/congress...uity- plans.html

Gravatar Winnie, I saw that and Good. At the rate that everything they get their hands on, coincidentally gets "leaked" somehow, anything that contains vital info, I would deny him access to also, until the "leaks" are found and stopped.

Gravatar A president tells congress and, by extension, the public that they don't have a right to know how this country is to be governed in the event of an emergency; and, you're OK with that? Remarkable.

This is a country of, by and for the people: you and me. We have rights and responsibilities for it. To have blind faith in an elite, a ruling class or an 'honorable' man or woman is contrary to our Constitution.

Leaks have and will always be part of the Washington DC landscape. They are used to advance agendas. The Bush administration leaks, too, when they find it advantageous. Does the name Valerie Plame mean anything? I don't suppose you thought Irving Libby should have been pardoned for his part of the conspiracy to expose one of our own CIA agents?

Gravatar By extension my ASS Winnie... the FACT is, they leak everything they get their hands on and are NOT to be trusted with information that could endanger our troops.

THEY made that bed for themselves Winnie and if you cannot see this, you are hopeless at this point.

You know, there are some things, as an American, that I do NOT want to know if it will endanger our troops.

Period.

You may not care if certain leaks endanger our troops, we do.

Have a good day Winnie, you still haven't responded to the seven OTHER reasons we entered to Iraq and that freaking response took me an hour to hunt down the information.

So, go back, acknowledge the points by READING THE WHOLE JOINT RESOLUTION.... or bug off.

Gravatar Again, because it gets lost in the shuffle, Plame WAS NOT an operator, there was no blown cover.

Gravatar By coincidence, I had printed out the Joint Res. on Friday from the WH site. I didn't have time yesterday to respond to your post, but will now.

1. Iraq's harboring of Al-Queda terrorists

The only known AQ in Iraq then was in a remote part of the north that Saddam didn't have control over.

2. Iraq's support for International Terrorism...

...was limited to sending checks to families of Palestinian suicide bombers, because he wanted to seen as an Arab leader in the ME

3. Iraq's "brutal repression" of its citizens...

...had been going on since before the CIA helped Saddam solidify his control of Iraq. The US found him useful as a friend until it found him useful as an enemy

4. Iraq's failure to repatriate or give information on non-Iraqi citizens detained and captured during Gulf War I, including an American serviceman;

while serious, certainly falls short for commiting US troops; sounds like an issue for the UN

5. Failing to properly return property wrongfully seized during the Kuwait invasion

ditto to #4

6. The attempted assassination of former President Bush in 1991

The US had already responded to that by launching 23 Tomahawk missiles against the headquarters of the Iraqi Intelligence Service

7. America's national security interests in restoring peace and stability to the Persian Gulf

Iraq was a country that had attacked us or posed a threat to us. Even in 2001 both Rice and Powell said Saddam was in a box. There was more stability in the Gulf with Saddam than since.

Even as late as last week Bush was saying that the folks in Iraq were the same ones that attacked on 9/11, so he continues with misunderstanding-anating the peoples of America.

Gravatar Repeating a myth does not make it a fact.

"Plame's testimony on the covert nature of her job was buttressed by a statement that Waxman read at the hearing's opening which, he said, was approved by Gen. Michael V. Hayden, the CIA's director. The statement said that Plame worked in a covert capacity at the time of Novak's column and that her employment status was classified under an executive order."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ wp...7031600276.html.

Gravatar #2, you didn't do your homework Winnie, that WASN'T all his support to terrorism was limited to.

Again, this is the problem with the sites you have been getting your information from.

#3. So what? All that says is no one gave a damn about the hundreds of thousands being killed by chemicals and so on... doesn't say very much for those that came before Bush, now does it?

#4. Since you weren't part of the vote TO authorize it, I guess those in power, knew better, now didn't they, because they DID authorize it.

#5. DITTO

#6. DITTO, they put that wording in, left it, therefore THAT isn't up to you now is it Winnie?

#7. Only in YOUR interpretation Winnie, WE have already documented people like Zaeqawi IN Iraq BEFORE 9/11, unless you will try to claim that Zarqawi actually wasn't part of al-Qaeda...?

Now for #1, which I saved for last... we HAVE shown that al-Qaeda members had a safe haven ALL over Iraq, so that is a deliberate lie on your part, or just you being naive enough to believe the lies told to you... that I will leave to the readers to decide.

Have a good day Winnie...each of your points have no validity.

Try try again.

Gravatar We're not going to hash out the topic of Waxman having lied on the Plame issue, either. The whole thing was ridiculous and was nothing more than more political smoke and mirrors

Gravatar "Repeating a myth does not make it a fact."

You're absolutely right, there, winnie, on that one. No matter HOW MUCH of the tripe from the left wing you repeat, it still doesn't make it any more true than the first time it was said.

Gravatar Even assuming that you and W were correct on every 'whereas' the UN resolution (#1441) called for a second vote on actions to be taken if Iraq was found to be in violation. That second vote never happened because Bush decided to "shock and awe" after learning through wiretapping of the UN Security Council memebers, that the vote would go against him. He had to have his war, be a war president and nobody was going to get in his way.

We know the neocons went ballistic on the French for saying no; but, what about the Russians, the Chinese, the Canadians, the Germans, the Mexicans? They all were opposed to Bush's folly, too. Shouldn't a global threat be met by global powers? And, I'm not talking about Micronesia.

Gravatar In case you haven't noticed Winnie.

We are seeing progress that even our MSM cannot and is not ignoring.

http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree....m-al- qaeda.html

One has to wonder why YOU are ignoring what even they are not anymore?

Gravatar Another thing you fail to take into consideration, winnie...some of us don't give a DAMN about anything the United Nations says or does, and sign the petitions annually for the United States to remove ourselves with involvement with them.

Gravatar To continue, I honestly, personally, wasn't worried about any of those other nations involving themselves in what we were doing, other than being members of NATO and stepping up to the plate.

WE were attacked, it was our war.

Every bit of it.

Know what? It still is.

Gravatar "WE were attacked, it was our war."

Attacked by 19 people, 15 were Saudis, none of them were Iraqi.

Country provide more foreign fighters than any other country: Saudi Arabia.

Source of funding for Sunni groups targeting US troops: Saudi Arabia.

Quoting myself from yesterday: "Want to reduce Islamic terrorism? Focus on the Taliban in Afghanistan, AQ in Pakistan and Wahabbists in Saudi Arabia."

Gravatar IT IS our WAR BECAUSE WE, AS americans and our representatives voted for it at the time.

Buyers remorse is a stupid argument Winnie, which leads me to believe you have run out of anything worth hearing.

Surrender is NOT an option, especially since we are seeing such good news come from Iraq over the last month.

The Saudi's are for another post.

My opinion of them isn't good to say the least.

Gravatar You're coming to the dance late again, whiney...I've said for years that the Saudi's are our friends to our face who hold the hilt of the knife they drive into our back at every opportunity.

I also said yesterday, reminding you, that bin Laden is a Saudi, too, and not and Afghani.

How far IS it up there where you shove your head, anyway, that you don't catch those factoids?

Gravatar "Buyers remorse"

I never bought into the lies, fears and distortions.

Only fear would propel otherwise intelligent people to forsake their own birthright of freedom and liberty for the illusion of security. I resist being frogmarched into an authoritation, surveillance society police state with Big Brother telling me what I have a right to know, to say, to think, to do.

Gravatar Hoch, I've always known that OBL was a Saudi. You didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.

Gravatar Then why don't you act like you have a GRAIN of common sense and do something productive to help try and finish this thing so that it can be done where we can be both secure FROM terrorism AS WELL as from an overblown police state government, which I also oppose.

I won't disagree that there are problems waiting for us in those other countries that you mentioned, if you'd PAY ATTENTION instead of coming to ARGUE all the damned time you'd discover that our opinion is that we need to go WHEREever, WHENever, to stop the threat to our nation.

And yes, Iraq was a part of that threat, no matter how much you want to howl otherwise.

I'm going back to work now, just so you don't think you've scored some sort of "coup" and chased me off when you reply to this and I don't for some hours more.

Lead, Follow, or GET OUT OF THE WAY, but do something productive other than just naysay everything.

Gravatar You know, I find it interesting the latest "talking point" is always about "authoritarian, big brother state".

So, Winnie, let me ask you this--how do you feel about the fairness doctrine? How do you feel about hillary's stated intent to take profits she deems obscene for companies to have made and distrubute them to everyone? How about her "we're all in it together" statements?

Because, frankly, I'm tired of hearing the big brother arguement without the backup--particularly from the left that seems to lovingly lap up with the left is wanting to shove down our throats--called big government--which is only big brother in disguise.

Gravatar Good questions Beth. I have been working on a piece about Hillary and those statements for the last week.

It is going to be one hell of a piece if I ever finish it.

By the way: Read Atlas Shrugged yet? It ties directly into Hillary's "Common Good" agenda.

Gravatar DAMN! The Leftinistra Moonbat Brigades in and out of CONgress INVENTED Big Brother and they are all FOR it.

This moron troll winston freak "IT" is yammering about that which IT believes in.

Dumbass trolls. I swear!

Gravatar Thats what scares me, that the brainwashing has been so successful they actually believe their rhetoric and the lies they have been fed.

Gravatar What is perplexing to me is why they rant and rave about Big Bro when they themselves support it. If they claim that "BushCo" are fomenting that which they believe in, should they not be in FULL support thereof?

Gravatar To Miss Beth (who Spree can thank for my being here) I'm not advocating the return of the Fairness Doctrine as long we don't have any more media consolidation. One corporation that can dominate a single media market's TV, radio and newspapers doesn't promote the 'marketplace' of ideas.

re: Hillary- I haven't been paying attention to her. She's not my favorite and it is too early to be having presidential candidate season. Feel free to provide some links to her particular commments.

re: big brother/government- that can be an interesting topic for discussion: the role of government. I'm glad that there are at least 2 strong viewpoints on this, so each side can keep the other from going too far overboard. It's that dynamic tension thingie. Right now, I see it tilting too far in one direction.

Gravatar And, which direction would that be--what you see tilting too far in one direction?

As for hillary and her comments, any of her books provides ample quotes...it's even easier to google hillary clinton quotes.

And, it's not just hillary--it's all of the major dems both running for office and currently in office. Pull voting records. How about barack's statements about sex ed for kindergartners? My grandaugher (5) really doesn't need to be taught sex ed--so why does the left feel 5 yos do? Early indoctrination?

And why all the screeching about school vouchers? As it is, because I can no longer afford parochial school for my children, they're in charter school and I still have to "smack down" the teachers regularly in what my children are allowed to be exposed to (yes, I still have children at home).

Big brother permeates everything, yet there is no outcry from the left--the best they can do is impose their own beliefs onto the right in a misguided blame game. Put the blame where it belongs--the leftist ideals.

Gravatar Spree--not yet on the book--got it, just haven't read it yet.

Snoop--OF COURSE...that's why I ask the questions...it's a great talking point to throw out to the RIGHTS, but the libs NEVER stop to think that's exactly what they're endorsing with the left. It ain't Bush that's the frog-marching demander--it's the left and their ideas of "fairness" (meaning locking down speech/entertainment/whatever to their point of view only, clearly a violation of freedom of expression), the entitlement mentality, the hillarycare healthcare they all want--what is that if NOT a big brother state? They just refuse to acknowledge we've seen through their huge lie and punctured the holes all through their arguments...intellectual dishonesty at its finest.

Gravatar For one thing they have no intellect so the intellectual dishonesty is out the window.

Trolls goose-step to the Sheehans and the Soros and move-on moronic diatribes.

Blind sheep following retarded sheep. What a combo.

Gravatar One has to wonder how people are capable of turning their brain off and letting others do their thinking for them.

Gravatar It frightened both my parents to no end to be facing alzheimer's--not being able to think for themselves. It scares my step-mom. And yet, those in favor of these "agendas" willingly give up the ability to think for themselves...I just don't understand that at all.

Gravatar It would make sense that they would turn their brains off but they don't have any.

Gravatar LOL Snooper

Gravatar Shutting down, y'all...heckuva storm going on here right now!

Gravatar FINALLY, i am actually hoping these clouds open up. We need the rain and the pool needs to cool the HELL down.

Gravatar Winnie,
Were you born this stupid or did you have to work on it?
FYI- I'm guessing you don't remember
the Oil for Food scandal at the U N. Please read about ityou will see the ones in the U N were profitting from the OFFP.
Many in the U N including Kofi's son made money on it.
Frankly the U N sucks eggs and needs to move, and the U N to me anyhow is another word for the mob of the world.
I don't trust those idiots to set up a picnic let alone anything important.
So to answer you about the resolution in the U N, you dope they had NO intentions of doing anything to hurt their bank accounts.
Only the Iraqi people got hurt by it, so you still think husssein was a prince, eh?
Your sick....

Gravatar "Even as late as last week Bush was saying that the folks in Iraq were the same ones that attacked on 9/11, so he continues with misunderstanding-anating the peoples of America.
Winston 'Apple Pie' Smith | Homepage | 07.23.07 - 2:44 pm | # "

What the heck? First of all, I'd like the exact quote....2nd -- I thought you libs have been screaming forever that we are making terrorists in Iraq....now you say there are no terrorists....How do you keep up with the propaganda from one day to the next?

Gravatar Wow Winston, I think you should start paying attention to Hillary because she's way ahead of Obama in all the polls.

Too bad the only way she has a chance of getting elected is if the DNC starts the voter fraud planning really really early.

Gravatar Back up for the moment...Spree, we had one MAJOR storm here..I SWEAR canoes were going down the street where I work as well as downtown. And it was like time lapse photography, it moved so quickly. I barely saw the clouds moving in, ran out to roll up my car windows and it HIT while I was doing that..so batten down your hatches!

Just heard NZ on Hugh Hewitt...the relaunch of Victory Caucus (I saw it two days ago--it's awesome) and we got a shout out as a "core group working really hard to keep the lights on and doing a great job of it".

Gravatar Well Beth, they keep passing me right by. A little thunder, a few sights of lightening, but no freaking rain.

Wanna pass some along?

As to Victory Caucus, I love it, found ya'll through it, but was disappointed that it was only a small group of US that continued to pay attention and fight to keep it going.

Glad to hear that and I will continue do my part.

Gravatar NJ GOP, welcome back and do not expect answers to REAL question from Winnie.

When he does answer, he quotes things that were debunked months and even years ago.

Gravatar The relaunch is incredible--NZ's aggregated a lot of information on it that automatically updates hourly--metrics, maps, statistics, feeds--much closer to what we needed and it's now, as he says, a "one stop shop" for all the war information. Go check it out..same site address.

Gravatar Seeing the winnie the troll has no brains, it MUST be one of those Jihadi lovin' bloggers.

Gravatar I saw the NEW Victory Caucus and it looks GREAT!! I can't get the "Support the Troops" link to open though.

Gravatar to NJ GOP:

Bush went even further at the news conference when he tried to link al Qaeda in Iraq to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. “The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th, and that’s why what happens in Iraq matters to the security here at home,” he said.

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/ca.../category/iraq/

Gravatar Snooper, I got it to open, it is the Fisher house, soldiers angels...the same as it always was.

Gravatar Cassie, the Oil for Food program scandal, while enriching Kofi's son and many US corporations, pales in size to the billions unaccounted for in Bremer's CPA.

The UN is an easy scapegoat because it will only be as strong as the founding members want it to be. The US finds it useful when it does its bidding and a thorn when it doesn't.

Gravatar They ARE al-Qaeda and al-Qaeda in Iraq has already SAID that they hold allegiance (is that spelled right?) to Bin Laden.

Technically Winnie, he is right. Deny it all you want, but al-Qaeda attacked us and al-Qaeda is one of the major forces we battle in Iraq.

Trying to split hairs about the actual people themselves is like saying, since Bin Laden wasn't on one of those planes on 9/11, we cannot group him in with al-Qaeda.

Once again, you are being intellectually dishonest.

Gravatar This ought to send you for a drink Winnie.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.c...-war-inches-up/

Now that the MSM is finally starting to be forced to acknowledge the tremendous success that General Petraeus is leading our military to, seems America is starting to once again, see victory on the horizon and are STARTING TO SUPPORT IT MORE.

First drink is a double and is on ME Winnie!!!!!!

Gravatar I wouldn't worry too much about Hillary. After she's spent her war chest, Al Gore will throw his hat into the ring and sweep her aside. Who do you think he should have as his VP, Obama?

Gravatar Thanks for pointing out the obvious spree....I was thinking that wow, so now there are chapters of Al Q and we are only blaming certain specific cells?

Give me a break! The libs lump all people who use the label "christian" into one group, but we aren't allowed to assume Al Q is under one big umbrella?

A little common sense here Winston. I know you hate Bush and all that, but really, a little common sense please.

Gravatar I'm going to go out on a limb here and figure that Winson was kidding about Gore for Pres. Poor guy I really do feel sorry for him. He was used and abused by the Clintons for his DC connections and now he is viewed by most as nothing more than a has-been who is almost as pathetic as Cindy Sheehan in his attempts to stay in front of a camera.

Sad.

Gravatar Blogs are MSM now? And polls are facts?
"The nationwide telephone poll was conducted Friday through Sunday with 889 adults." Not a very large sampling.

" Americans are divided over whether the Bush administration’s discussion of terrorism is out of a genuine concern or if it is a political tool. Half of those polled say members of the Bush Administration talk about the threat of terrorism to gain a political advantage, while 39 percent consider the threat a genuine issue."

Sounds like a "gut" feeling. Har Har

Although the thought of drinks with the Spree by the poolside certainly has its upside....hmmmmm

Gravatar Initially, AQ didn't even refer to themselves as that. It was what the US called OBL's band of thieves. Since then they have grown, especially with Bush falling into OBL's trap of being bogged down in an Arab country. It has done wonders for their recruitment and in-theater training. Then they go home and spread their newly learned skills and wild-eyed hate faith with their fellow fanatics. New chapters spring up like weeds. The AQ in Mesoptania was a homegrown organization. They may be communicating with that guy that Bush let get away at Tora Bora, but they aren't the same folks. Bush, himself, even lowered the bar about his efforts after last week's NIE when he said that they may be stronger now than at 9/11, but they'd be stronger yet if he hadn't invaded the wrong country. I know I will have the exact quote for NJ GOP.

Gravatar Asyou can tell NJ GOP, that IS what Winnie does...often. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Gravatar Poor Winnie... a BLOG might have brought the poll to us, but look at the top right corner dear, it is a NYT/CBS graph.

Try to spin it again, it spun wrong.

http://wwwwakeupamericans-spree....-inches- up.html

Gravatar Winnie, OBL didn't set a trap. He thought he would get away with terrorism like he did under Clinton. Don't re write history please.

Gravatar From last Thursday press conference

The Scooter Commuter speaks:

"Because of the actions we've taken, al-Qaida is weaker today than they would have been,"

Gravatar Like talking to a brick wall NJ GOP, he never can admit when he or his rhetoric is called out and shown to be wrong.

Gravatar This writen 11 days after 9/11 and over 2 years before shock & awe,

"Retaliation is a trap. In a world that was supposed to have learnt that the rule of law comes above revenge, George Bush appears to be heading for the very disaster that Osama bin Laden has laid down for him.

Let us have no doubts about what happened in New York and Washington last week. It was a crime against humanity. We cannot understand America's need to retaliate unless we accept this bleak, awesome fact. But this crime was perpetrated - it becomes ever clearer - to provoke the United States into just the blind, arrogant punch that the Pentagon is preparing.

Bin Laden has described to me how he wishes to overthrow the pro-American regimes of the Middle East, starting with Saudi Arabia and moving on to Egypt, Jordan and the other Gulf states. In an Arab world sunk in corruption and dictatorships - most of them supported by the West - the only act that might bring Muslims to strike at their own leaders would be a brutal, indiscriminate assault by the US."

The author is Robert Fisk. Robert Fisk is Middle East Correspondent for the UK Independent.

Gravatar Keep quoting the PAST all you want Winnie, it doesn't negate what is happening RIGHT NOW.

Come on, get your head out and start getting serious.

You sound more and more like DailyKos with every pathetic statement you make.

bbl

Gravatar Those of you who see Iraq as the front line in the GWOT, and have a blind spot for OBL, Taliban, and groups in Afghanistan, Pakistan and elsewhere sound like the officers on the Titanic saying there is no need to worry about those ice bergs because we have an unsinkable ship.

Gravatar No one even knows if Bin Laden is alive Winnie.

Since statements and video's FROM al-Qaeda have already said that Iraq IS the central front in the war, your denying it is simply sticking your head so deep into the sannd you might never be able to remove it.

Try listening to the enemy for a change Winnie, you might just learn something.

Gravatar Ok Winnie, so if it was a "trap", are you saying that if we did NOTHING like Clinton did, we would just keep getting hit until we stepped into the trap?

Fo Real dude.... you need to think. Do you think the US is the only country that has experienced Al Q terrorism? Is your hatred for Bush so intense you will believe anything?

And why do you believe that conservatives only think there are terrorists in Iraq? And if you say there are terrorists groups plotting against all non-muslims in Afghanistan, Pakistan etc. what do you suggest we do about it?

Gravatar Oh and Winston, one more thing. I don't expect you to answer any of the questions. Your blind hatred is so completely obvious that I don't think you will ever be able to reason out a logical answer.

This is why the prevailing attitude of hatred is so scarey; peoples' judgment is impaired by it. Look at what Hitler was able to accomplish by using hatred to blind the people. Like I said, scarey.

Gravatar Good questions NJ GOP.

Gravatar Wait NJ! Don't forget in their eyes, Bush is hitler--without the stars and identification, without the crematoriums and camps, without the atrocities masquerading as medical care--but still, in their eyes, Bush is hitler.

Gravatar These are questions I will have to ponder since it is time for me to head home and have dinner.

Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Gravatar Hawk, you were right on the money with this line, "some of us don't give a DAMN about anything the United Nations says or does,".

Take the money we send to this phony organization and use it to secure our borders (which would mean throwing the UN out first).

Gravatar AMEN Cyber Pastor, I'd love few things MORE than to see the UN either dissolved or banned from our shores and our country withdrawing any involvement with this Global Government wannabe.

Gravatar Winnie must have missed this in my posting, no surprise there:

"Iraq is, has been, but ONE FRONT in this war. Afghanistan is another one. Make NO mistake in thinking that there will not be others as time progresses and our enemies regroup themselves. WE CAN NOT ALLOW THEM TO HAVE ONE MOMENT TO CATCH THEIR BREATH AND ATTACK US ON OUR OWN SHORES AGAIN. By their own admissions, by their own words, THAT IS THEIR INTENTION."

Gravatar I'm going to guess that Winston blogs while at work.

Gravatar That's right, we've got to make them feel like they aren't safe in any cave, in any country. That is why I'm happy to hear them come out and say that action in Pakistan is a possibility. May not be a good idea - that's up for debate, but it still lets the bad guys know that they better sleep with one eye open!

Gravatar We need Winnie like a bad cold.
The United Nations, haha for over 50 yrs they sat in there offices and done NOTHING. All of a sudden to certain people they are the best things that were created, oh phooy.
And you forgot about Russia, China
Germany, France, it seems we get blamed for everything and I'm tired of it.
These Countries along with others took more money than anyone else.
Look at the Countries in the U N, like Venezula, etc.
They are trying hard to controll the U.S. and I'll fight that too.

Gravatar Hi...Interesting comments here and I certainly wish that I could join in but time is of the essence. I would like to respond to Miss Beth regarding this:" I read that piece, Hawk--it was excellent, as always.

Miss Beth | 07.22.07 - 9:51 pm | #"

Miss Beth, please e-mail me after you've read this. Thanks. Norm

Gravatar Off Topic but needed.
We have to worry about:
Law of the Sea
Visa Waiver Program
Forgive me for saying it this way but what the hell is going on in DC?
This congress is death to America.
I have to ask this but what the hell good is Homeland Security if the damn congress is giving our Nation away?
Oh the 110th congress are doing things
it's called selling us out. Those damn idiots.
Impeach congress for I'm getting tiored of fighting to save our ountgry, our military fights to defend it and those lousy good for nothing young twits are selling us out to anyone.
This waiver program will allow ANYONE to come into this Country without a visa. Why don't we put a sign on our Borders that says:
Welcome to America feel free to kill us anytime you choose....
These idiots are getting me so mad I could spit nickles.

Gravatar Two words for ya Cassie... Filibuster (cause it cannot get jammed through the Senate with such a small majority), and the second word, VETO, in case the idiot Senate was that stupid.

(grin)

Gravatar Trackbacks and Halo Scan is having issues today.

There is a follow-up to this piece at MEMRI.
