I keep on asking over at the MSNBC board why the media does not report on anything but the bad out of Iraq.
All I ever seem to get is Bush bashing or someone cutting and pasting total military deaths with some snide oneliner about President Bush. Oh well, I'll keep on posting there, maybe one person will see and if not I at least managed to tick of the majority of the board who hate to hear reports of our achievements but love to hear reports of our failures.

Spree, Joe Lieberman last week described the political tug of war between Congress/Senate and the military/commanders "a tragedy" because this is obviously so winnable. It's just a matter of time. I had a friend over a couple days ago who's a Ranger/Special Forces guy. He's going to Iraq next month to train Iraqi security/police. He says there's no doubt we can and are winning this, and we need 10-15 years to do it. He says in fact that we WILL be in Iraq in 10 years whether we withdrawal now or not.
If we remain,it will take that long to bring about the proper level of counterinsurgency operations and security to Iraq and we'd have some sort of presence in Iraq for about 10-15 years.
If we leave, Iran/al-Qaeda, etc. will volley for power and Iraq will become a terrorist state once again, worse than what it was before because it'll affect the outside world in a greater way and be a thorn in the side of an already unstable Middle East. With the arms race in Iran, North Korea and terrorism in Libya, Lebanon, Palestine, Africa.... Iraq will be a target for terrorists needing a base of operations, or for those wishing to expand. There will be no need to discuss pre-emptive strikes next time; it'll be a necessity, probably because of a terrorist attack orchestrated from Iraq.
So why not finish the job now? we're nearing the finish line. Why waste thousands of lives in the future for a political football game? If liberals were truly compassionate, they'd be behind this mission.

Amy, you know this, I know this. The problem is the people with so much hatred in them and so full of Bush Derangement Syndrome that they cannot see the truth even if it hits them with a shovel in the head.
