There's a big difference between recognizing an existing failure and 'wishing for failure' (as you accuse the Democrats of doing.
If we're to have a rational discussion about the War in Iraq supporters like yourself need to move beyond false accusations.
Or do you actually have a quote from a Democratic leader (or Republican like Hagel) that specifically expresses the hope that we fail?

Greg...I will hunt it down for you, but there was a survey done and the question asked WAS do you WANT the plan to suceed and there was a great number of Democrats that actually said NO, and almost as many that said they didn't know.
So, although I do admit some do want it to fail and others only think it will... there is a legitimate basis to say that a great many Democrats WANT failure.
I will find the link for you and post it when I do.
Found it.
Question was: #19- Do you personally want the Iraq plan President Bush announced last week to succeed?
54% of Democrats said yes, 71% of Republicans said yes, 63% of independents said yes.
The disturbing part is that 34% of Democrats actually answered NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
11% of Republicans said NO and 19% of independents said NO.
15% of Democrats also answered "I don't know" to that same question.
10% of Republicans and 17% of independents.
That is 49% of Democrats that either do not WANT it to succeed or do not know if they want it to succeed... almost HALF the base.
Fact is, whether you want to admit it or not Greg.... quite a few ARE actively rooting for failure.
Whole poll can be found here:

I remember that Fox poll and frankly don't buy it. Eleven percent of REPUBLICANS want the effort to fail? I don't think so.
The only thing I can think of is that people didn't realize what the questions meant because of the way they were worded.
To think that anybody in this country would WANT us to fail there is absurd.

Greg,
You never buy anything you don't WANT to hear,so I am not surprised.
Here is a little experiment for you if you are so convinced.
Cruise around the left blogs Greg and ask them straight up in the comments if they WANT the new plan to succeed...
DARE YA.
Before they answer, come let me know what sites and I will record the reactions here if you think the little experiment will come out differently than what the poll says.
Perosnally I think it will be worse than the poll says.
So, you UP for the challenge Greg?
I will check back when I get back, I have a shitload of stitches I have to go get removed from my mouth, so I will be gone a couple of hours.
Greg, one last point: what part of: #19- Do you personally want the Iraq plan President Bush announced last week to succeed?
Is so hard to understand? You would rather say people are too stupid to understand the question, then to admit that "some" people are so poisoned that they would actively wish for defeat.
I think you are being naive, whether it is deliberate or not, I have no way of knowing.

Spree I didn't say people were 'too stupid' to answer the poll correctly. I think most read it as 'Do you think the surge will succeed' (not do you WANT..).
Put it this way- if 11% of Republicans don't want it to suceed we got a bigger problem than we thought.
IMO- when Fox conducts a poll they're usually fishing for an answer. The same is true for WND.
In the same vein the Huffpo puts titles on their articles that the body of the document doesn't support.
See? I can spot problems on both sides of the debate.
Good luck with your stitches-
Greg

Guess that means you aren't willing to put your money (so to speak) where your mouth is and you aren't accepting the challenge... I didn't think you would, but it would have been fun!!!!!

With rhetoric whipped to such high points as, "the President lied," Liberals are fully invested in failure. They chose to go "to that dark place" with our soldier's boots on the ground, and I won't forget it.
Thanks for this breaking good news from Iraq. It's great to hear and read the truth alongside the perversions of that same truth.
