Great article. The Democrats seem to think they've won 2008 and will continue to hold the House and Senate.
I think they're in for a rude surprise. I stand by my first prediction for 2008 that I made a year ago: Nancy Pelosi will not be Speaker in 2009, nor will Harry Reid be Majority Leader.
Pelosi will not be leader because the Republicans will control the House, that will be simple. An 11% approval rating means a majority of people are angry with their own Representatives, and that means a lot of them aren't going to be returned. Enough freshmen Dems are out there that are in serious trouble in the polls that the Dems are terrified. They know they are going to lose the House.
The incumbents are mostly Democrats. They won't survive. They will be replaced by Republicans.
Let's hope your assessment is correct Lightwave.
This country cannot afford another Dem majority in the House or the Senate culturally or economically, and I don't even want to think about a Dem president....that picture is just too ugly.

The post is nuts-on,(I agree with it) but to give either party kudos for competence is a stretch. Guess that's part of the problem, that we have to choose either/or both with candidates and parties. I miss the Constitution.
