I'm afraid I'm not terribly familiar with Mitt's pre-governor record. He came into my focus during the middle of his term (especially when that tragic accident at the tunnel occurred, and his signing the health care bill for his state - which, I hear, is collapsing because he's not there to oversee it...but at least he tried. They would've chastised him also if he hadn't tried. Yes?)
Anyhow, as far as the NRA's endorsement is concerned, I don't know about that either, to be honest. I'm more concerned right now with Mike Huckabee's spiral ascent in the polls, which for me is unjustified. Has anyone out there heard him talk about foreign policy or securing our borders or term limits or the Iran issue or Hugo Chavez or Russia's resurgence of enmity towards the United States?
Is it my imagination or is Huck only preaching to the choir (Evangelical Christians)?

Maybe that has something to do with Huckabee's, "spiral ascent in the polls," because the rest of the field (with the exception of Ron Paul) is proving themselves to be more and more out of step with the American public on foriegn policy.

You know, I've been a Rudy supporter since day one because, as far as I'm concerned, this election is about leadership (there seems to be precious little of it floating around these days), and about national security. However, I've gotta say, I'm giving Fred Thompson another look, because he seems to be the only one who "gets it" on immigration. I don't worry about people coming over here to work, I worry about the drug gangs and terrorists who are ALSO coming across our borders. IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT AND BORDER SECURITY ARE NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUES!!!
I work at an airport where Thompson flew into a few weeks ago...They say that he is very UN-Presidential. Slow, and acts like he's not totally aware of whats going on around him.
