Gravatar And is not the best way to combat terrorism and protect ourselves....

1) Utilize intelligence gathering to prevent attacks before they happen, rather than attempt to fight terror as a military war, which we see is failing?

2) End some of our own unjust policies that could turn people who would not be terrorists otherwise into terrorists or terrotist sympathizers?

3) Honor our troops by bringing them home from a war they did not sign up to fight, and that it was never fair to ask them to fight. Isn't that supporting the troops? And end a war that is unjustly causing foreign civilians who would normally have nothing against us to suffer horribly, thus making them sympathetic to radical organizations and thus making us less safe?

4) Normalize our relations with the rest of the civilzed world again?

Just food for thought...

Gravatar LOLOL Don. War is not pretty, no one said it would be. They are either suffering ADD or like you said, just cowards that would rather see us defeated than to see us triumphant.

Gravatar Your 1st.point is based on a false premise...first of all we are seeing progress AND success militarily, as per the general and his statement, which he holds the credentials to make.

Secondly, we have NOT been attacked here at home and many many attacks now have been foiled abroad, some of which with information obtained IN IRAQ.

We honor our troops by LISTENING TO THEM when they say and I quote from my own emails and communications with them...KEEP CONGRESS OFF OUR BACKS SO WE CAN COMPLETE THE MISSION".

Your suggestion that honoring the troops by IGNORING them, shows incredible arrogance.

They are firsthand witnesses to the progress they are seeing and reporting back to us, what is YOUR firsthand experience in Iraq this year?

France voted in Sarkozy AFTER he came and shook Bush's hand and informed the world he would be improving relations with the U.S., Merkel has been pro-US...our relations ARE improving, so now EACH of your points have been shown to be based on a false premise, which is why people like you cannot debate. You do not do the research needed to start basing your "opinions" on facts and instead you base them on lies and distortions.

Gravatar Ms. Dulcos,

Those who support the Iqaq war effort and support the "mission" the troops are conducting there have a different opinion than I do, but I don't accuse them of 'ignoring' the troops. I believe our troops are in unfortunate conditions there, and I have never been presented with a valid reason why they are there, and I believe we should bring them home. I believe this because I have respect and regard for them. You may disagree with that; you may violently disagree with that. But its hardly a suggestion to ignore the troops. To not have an opinion on the Iraq war one way or another and simply read celebrity gossip would be 'to ignore the troops'. With all due respect, the statement you made that I suggest we 'ignore them' is simply erroneous.

Many people have an opinion on the war who were not there; but okay... let's give weight to the opinion of thoe who are in Iraq. And let's give the most weight to those actually fighting the war. So, here are the words of three men who have fought in Iraq. I'll let it speak for itself.

Thanks for your time.

Gravatar Chris,
Your comment about our military fighting a war they didn't sign up for, is a little off the mark.
Everyday, in the middle of this "war", men and women are re-enlisting, right in the heart of the "battle zone". Everyday!
My husband re-enlisted the other day, one of his buddies is re-enlisting tomorrow and another re-enlisted in the middle of downtown Baghdad. I have 2 other friends that are begging to go back but the military won't let them because of medical reasons.
