What you and your rightwing buddies don't seem to grasp is that even if things are going well in Iraq right now it can't continue. The surge is exactly that, a surge, its going to eb and when it does eb, the insurgents/terrorists (or whatever you want to call them) will crawl right back from under the rocks that they've been hiding under and things will go back to the way they were before the surge.
What are you going to want to do than? Send the troops back for another surge?
Invading Iraq was always a poor idea because unless things went exactly the way we planned (and they didn't) we were going to get tied down in a quagmire. Add to that mix, the fact that the invasion and occupation were poorly executed almost to the point of criminal incompetence for 4 years.
As for the poll you cite, as usual you are choosing to quote only those segments of polls that vaguely seem to support your view of the world. I can quote five other polls (Gallup, CNN, NBC/Wallstreet Journal, and even Fox News) that all say a majority of the American people think invading Iraq was a mistake.
The GOP is going to pay dearly for this in 2008.

MARK, Who the hell are you to be claiming what can and cannot continue?
In case you haven't noticed, they are sending brigades home already because the Iraqi's are trained enough to take over in those areas themselves.
The surge was never MEANT to be anything but temporary as this is proving.
You keep living in denial, while the rest of us actually pay attention to events on the ground.
Democrats have invested heavily in defeat and are being shown for the surrender monkeys they are as your comments are evidence of.

Then 44% of Americans have been duped, hoodwinked, and bamboozled by the media.

While the uptick in the polls is encouraging, a majority of Americans apparently remain unaware that the situation in Iraq is turning around.
What's the explanation? Not enough people are reading Susan Duclos's blog. Since America will not learn the good news from the drive-by media and the invested-in-defeat crowd, we need to get the word out that everyone should read "Wake Up America" every day.
Better yet, several times a day, just to keep up.

The controlled news medias of this country do not give us the whole story about anything going on in Iraq. Most Americans have no contact with that war with the exception of a few "kids" they may know that are military, or through sons in "hot zones" in Iraq. Our views of that place are through the filtered and censored media, so my question is this: how could these Americans (44%?) possibly know anything near the truth of what is going on over there to make that assertion? We get 100% lies from our government ( I have been told that a partial truth is a WHOLE lie), and you know that is truth, so how can we as a people make any kind of rational decision based on falsehoods we are spoon-fed?

Considering our big bitch here IS the media, you probably should have browsed around before speaking. We use soldiers words, interviews that we and others do with soldiers that are on the ground or have been, in iraq.
We watchdog the media and I can show you dozens of stories the media refuses to cover, If the truth were told in the media, then that 44% would already be higher and now that they are being forced to report the actual events, the numbers month after month keep rising.
Your statements on the otherhand DO come from the liberally biased media, which we have also shown many studies done that prove that basic fact without a doubt, so how do YOU base your opinion?
Think about it.
