Gravatar Great post. Thank you Spunky.

Gravatar Thanks for continuing to keep me updated and for your perspective. You are absolutely correct. The double standard for homeschoolers is absolutely real, but sadly, not surprising.

Keep it up, Spunky!

Gravatar That video is so disturbing!!!!

Gravatar You know, Spunky, this doesn't happen very often, but I am truly at a loss for words.

Gravatar Why is it that the so-called experts never want to address the real problems? It is so fundamentally obvious that the violence that these kids inflicted on an innocent human being have issues that a government system (school) will never be able to fix. I say the problem is because of these so-called experts, for example welfare has destroyed the black family and it should be so obvious to anyone willing to take an honest look, when over the course of all of these years black families have not brought themselves out of poverty, isn't it time to wake up and say, something isn't right and we need to fix it on our own and tell the government where to go! I believe if there were intact families in these communities who really cared about how their children turned out, things would change.

Gravatar Little children praising and adults praying to a sitting President is not something I ever thought I'd see in America except on Saturday Night Live.

Gravatar I too am astonished when I hear people express the belief that governemtn is the only possible solution for the worlds problems. In light of the fact that government has never been the solution to hte world's problems, this is an astounding belief.

I had been thinking that homeschoolers were safe now, it's become accepted by most epople, but altely i see that this particular fight will never be over.

Gravatar Retaining freedom always requires vigilance. I don't think we need to be fearful but at the same time we need to be informed and inform others. The best defense is a good offense, as long as homeschoolers anticipate the problems before they come up we'll be in better able to fight off government intrustion into our God given responsibility.

Gravatar Thanks for this post.

Gravatar It sounds to me like they're saying "God", not "Obama".

Gravatar I've read other accounts where people have said that. But when I played this the first time, my six year old daughter who was not watching the video said, "Mom, why are you listening to people pray to Obama?" I'm going with my daughter and my own ears on this one.

Gravatar I should also note that there is a connection between this organization and Barack Obama,

"And at this time we were just creating the Gamaliel Foundation. I met with Barack on a regular basis as he incorporated the Developing Communities Project, as he moved the organization into action and as he developed the leadership structure for the organization. He would write beautiful and brilliant weekly reports about his work and the people he was engaging.

When Barack decided to go to Harvard Law School, he approached John McKnight, a professor at Northwestern and a Gamaliel Board member for a letter of recommendation. When Barack was leaving he made sure that Gamaliel was the formal consultant to the organization that he had created and to the staff that he had hired.

Barack has acknowledged publicly that he had been the director of a Gamaliel affiliate. He has supported Gamaliel throughout the years by conducting training both at the National Leadership Training events and at the African American Leadership Commission. He has also attended our public meetings.

We are honored and blessed by the connection between Barack and Gamaliel."

Gravatar Ya know...I just don't hear the same thing that the words on the screen say. I don't hear anyone praying to Obama - I hear a hard "G" at the beginning.

The power of persuasion is very powerful - reading those words make our ears "hear" what we think it says. I don't think we should fall into this so easily - it makes us look silly.

Gravatar I listened without the words after I heard people saying a hard "G" and a few times it could go either way on the hard "G" but I don't hear a hard "d" at the end and a few times their voices seem to rise like the end of a vowel not a consonant.

Gravatar Ok, I definitely hear Obama, not God (I didn't even watch the screen, trying not to be influenced by that).

Yet I'm not sure that they are "praying" to Obama. Perhaps they are *using* this form of 'prayer' (the repetition) as simply a tool. They seriously mean, "Hear our CRY, Obama!". Maybe it's just a people wanting their leader, their president to hear their cries, their demands, their thoughts?!

Although if this is true, it's really very sad. Instead of being able to "cry" out to God, the only one who can truly 'hear their cries', they are vainly crying out to a man, just a fallen man, and hoping for salvation (from their troubles, their strife, their desperation). It's sad because Obama *WILL* fail them - he's just a man.

Anyway, just wanted to say that I honestly hear them saying "Obama".

Gravatar Lori, I think it would seem less like a prayer and more like a rallying cry if it were not happening with a woman wearing priestly robes in a very liturgical atmosphere.

Gravatar Well, for sure, I respect what y'all hear. I didn't hear it, but I'm not gonna tell you that you didn't!

I found the songs of praise as sung by children seriously disturbing!
