Gravatar We just had out annual fondue dinner last week (the Swiss cheese type) but I'd never heard of fondue vigneronne. It makes me think a bit of a European twist on Mongolian hot pot. Sounds lovely.

Gravatar Fondue, love cheese! This fruitcake looks ono.

Gravatar All that's missing is a crackling fire. Have a wonderful holiday.

Gravatar Hi Rowena! So many good things over here - love your gingerbread creche and apple San Nicolo! Fondue vigneronne sounds like a great idea too... I'm not doing a very good job of keeping up with my favorite blogs lately, but I want to wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year!!

Gravatar mmm I love the so-very-focused pix of breads! I recently had mongolian hotpot which I loved... I guess I'm getting to an age where the non-fried version appeals to me (gasp!). I've had fondue served with the more conservative sauces you mention, but salsa verde sounds so much better!

Gravatar There's something about sitting around a fondue pot with friends. It's a nice and slow way of eating, and very intimate. Theres a couple of great fondue restuarants here in the city, with dark and quiet booths to sit in, and they are always packed and you have to make reservations way in advance. Many proposals of marriage have been made there.
But I'm still drooling over those olives!!

Gravatar You really are a chef after my own heart — fondue with red wine! Never heard of it but I love it! Thanks for enlightening us. Definitely going to have to try that once we develop a more adventurous group of friends . . .

I'm not a big fruitcake fan, but I like fruit breads if they don't have candied fruit, That Bisciola looks like it would be really ono with some Gluhwein (mulled wine)

(Restaurants on speed-dial, huh? Do they deliver?)

Gravatar That sounds fab. I definitely want to give this one a whirl as the grease and cheese ones, although delicious are a bit on the heavy side. This sounds more appealing for a nice change.

Gravatar Oh, this fondue vigneronne looks lovely! And simple! And the perfect meal for entertaining!

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Enjoy the break.
