The view is wonderful! Thank you for the pictures so I can see what it's like.
I always wonder..what kind of wildlife do you have to be careful about in Italy while hiking? Are there snakes and such?

Girl, you have guts! This hike sounds like a doozy, but the looking down part is what would kill me! Does Maddie do these hikes too? Brave little pup!

I was wondering whether Maddie did that hike also? I love a long walk, but that one's right out of my league! I take my hat off to you.

Maryann - oddly enough, I've never come across any sort of information on this. Perhaps the italian parks system believes that hikers are already keen to the dangers of the wild? Now that's a scary thought. I think it would be come as a shock to see a sign that read something like this:
WARNING! Proceed at your own risk. Wild animals and poisonous creatures are natural inhabitants of this area.
manju - Maddie is a real trooper. She hikes, she digs sagras, and she looooves hotels. We are truly one hike-crazy family. Now it's up to the new pup to get with the program!
Kat - I am SO ready for Mt. Fuji. I want those souvenir walking sticks!
Carla - I was hoping to run into some bears (well, not actually run into them) but no luck this time. Suffice to say that they are probably continuing to steal chickens from the hen house or so we've been told.
