There are other differences. One is that we -- and by we, I mean all of us, regardless of where we fall on the political spectrum -- are inherently whigs. Anti-Tories. It has something to do with 1776 and King George.
There is also a cultural difference, here formed not by Brits, but the Scots-Irish. We're more gregarious, tribal, and bellicose. We also don't really give two shakes what anyone thinks of us.
Of all the Anglosphere (not counting the poor Canucks, who deserve their own treatment), the Australians are more similar to us -- both culturally, and when you look at Aussie conservatism and American conservatism. I'm not sure why that is, however.

It would be quite helpful if your posts had a full date attached.
Day, Month, Year.
It gives an idea of the historical context.
BTW nice bit.

The Aussies and the Americans got the best parts of Brit society - the criminals. Who are inherently risk takers.
Genetics matters. (Not a widely popular view I might add.)

If you're really that interested, here's an RSS feed for the latest comments to this blog. Never miss another pointless argument.
Of course comments are moderated, in a common-sense sort of a way. You don't have to give your email address to post here.
If you know your HTML, you can use <a>, <b>, and <i> tags, and entities, too. If you don't, you can still use them, but with a greater sense of trepidation.
Cheers.
