What?

Kofi Annan's appearance was one of the few bits I saw. I was hoping he'd get booed off but sadly he got a huge cheer.

Geldof's one of the few people in a position to slag off Annan and actually be listened to by the general public, especially young people. That he chose instead to aggrandise him is very sad indeed.

Oh please! Almost none of the country are aware of Kofi Annan's corruption. The BBC and Channel 4 go out of their way to make Kofi look like a God. How on earth was Kofi gonna get booed?

I respect Geldof also. If he says something, I'm gonna go out of my way to listen, even if he's wrong (like the eBay thing). He's done a great thing. Prior to Live8 he held some kinda weird telephone thing (I don't know how it worked) with promimant bloggers (including the great satire guy Frank J of imao.us fame) and the right-wingers were very impressed with him.

Of course comments are moderated, in a common-sense sort of a way. You don't have to give your email address to post here.

If you know your HTML, you can use <a>, <b>, and <i> tags, and entities, too. If you don't, you can still use them, but with a greater sense of trepidation.

Cheers.
