What?

But.. but.. guns are illegal, so how could that be?

Exactly - give everyone a gun and there will be no shootings. Just like in the good ol' US or A. Yee-haaaaw!

Criticising the US by typing "Yee-haaaaw!" is equivalent to criticising Mexico by typing "Ariba!"

Feel free to back up your point by providing an example of a US state that has seen a rise in shootings since introducing concealed-carry legislation.

Unlike Linstead, I happen to live in the USA and have done so (on a permanent, full-time basis) for over three years. Virginia, where I live has concealed carry laws, and a crrime rate - all crime, not just shootings - unheard of in Britain since the end of the 1950's.
Only Washingon DC, which has gun control laws similar to Britain, has a high crime rate anywhere near that of London Bristol or Manchester.

But haven't you heard, Stuart? Real UK crime rates haven't changed since the 1950s. It's only paranoia and media sensationalism and different ways of recording statistics and increased reporting of crime for insurance reasons and rose-tinted nostalgia that make us think they have. Apparently.
