I don't get it - who or what is the "tenacious bandit gang" supposed to represent?

You mean that was a serious question? Blimey. Here's your answer, then.
The tenacious bandit gang represent -- or, to be precise, are -- the group commonly known as "Robin Hood's Merry Men". I thought that was obvious from the mention of Robin Hood. Apparently not.
If you want politeness from people, by the way, don't devote large amounts of your precious time to publicly insulting them. Just a tip.
Anyway, I'm not welcome round your way -- we both know the kind of reception I get if I come near your bits of the Interweb -- so it seems only fair that you should fuck off now.

If you're really that interested, here's an RSS feed for the latest comments to this blog. Never miss another pointless argument.
Of course comments are moderated, in a common-sense sort of a way. You don't have to give your email address to post here.
If you know your HTML, you can use <a>, <b>, and <i> tags, and entities, too. If you don't, you can still use them, but with a greater sense of trepidation.
Cheers.
