I think I saw the same thing in my logs once (or was it unicef? some International Agency anyway), and it didn't make sense to me either. However, I do seem to remember reading somewhere (can't remember where, sorry) that an elderly version of Netscape Navigator had a bug which caused it to use the old URL from the address bar as the referer URL if the user typed a new address in manually. It's the sort of bug I'd probably write: you're at URL x and go to y, so it stands to reason that x is the referer to y, right? |
