On a *slightly* related topic, I drove down to Lytham St Annes a couple of weeks back using my a printed copy of Google directions as my navigator. Not once did I follow a sign for St Annes. And there were plenty of them. Instead I followed the Google instructions to the letter and got there in good time, despite going in the, seemingly, opposite direction from that which the signs were attempting to dictate. |

Thanks, Tom. He's still in hospital, but quite cheerful. |

Hmm. I remember I was in a car once, and we reached a roundabout: all four exits of the roundabout were signposted to the same one place. No other details were given, and no other places signed. |

So what you're saying is that every exit off this roundabout was signposted? Well, that's already about 50% better than your average Republican roundabout. Also, I bet the reason why all four roads were signposted to the same place is that they all went to the same place. We have plenty of pointless junctions on pointless roads, but we at least tell strangers how pointless they are. |

Brilliant! Ireland sounds like Pennsylvania. So are you a distant cousin of Clay Shirky? |

That is good. Thank you. |
