What?

Yes, but these are the same people who go on television, and on television, claim that they're being silenced by the administration.

Ahem.

I had a similar experience at work, recently. When you explain how it's all nonsense, stupid people say things like "Aye, but it's still dead spooky, innit?"

No. No, it's really, really not. I was about to say 'Can't we put these people on an island somewhere?' when I realised that someone already has.

Bugger.

Hmmm. Problem is, we are on it.

I blame the internet; before its invention (thanks, Mr Gore!.. ;).. ) these nutters were reduced to street corner ramblings, small badly-typed press publications of the kind found in 'alternative' bookshops or doorstopping householders, work colleagues & strangers in pubs.

Now, they can have a website or twelve, and launch a raft of emails full of their latest crackpot theories to everyone unfortunate enough to be on their group mail list......

Not to mention the giant network of convincing-looking sites from well-meaning but wrong-headed types that can make even the most demented idea seem spookily plausible.

Maybe we need to put ourselves on a different island. Or planet.

Of course, the Madrid bombings of March 2004 were 911 days after 9/11. Or were they? Had they taken into account the leap year? etc. etc. ...

Speaking of conspiracy theorists...:

Wow. Reading that is like watching someone descend into madness from scratch. Class.

Stay tuned.

Her latest offering seems to be along the lines that she can now publish the 'secret documents relating to the Jack the Ripper murders' if she wanted to.....

My money's on Aaron Kosminski, though I always secretly liked James Maybrick for it.... I hope Walter Sickert is out of the running, it will so piss off Patricia Cornwell!

If you're really that interested, here's an RSS feed for the latest comments to this blog. Never miss another pointless argument.

Of course comments are moderated, in a common-sense sort of a way. You don't have to give your email address to post here.

If you know your HTML, you can use <a>, <b>, and <i> tags, and entities, too. If you don't, you can still use them, but with a greater sense of trepidation.

Cheers.
