What?

Obvious. Spurious Banana is an Asterix character sharing the same name as Spurious Brontosaurus, the slippery Roman centurion who followed them all around in Spain.

In seven or eight years you will know these things.

... sharing the same first name ...

Surely his name was "Spurius", not "Spurious".

Silly me. I didn't have the nus to check.

BTW, your post of Nov 8 has mysteriously appeared twice at the top of the blog.

Yes, it did. Blogging from my phone didn't work, but it turns out it got mysteriously queued for a couple of days. Tsk. Gone now.

What I find oddest of all about some of the spam emails I've received this week, is that their content is simply lines of random text. No advert, no pictures, no links, no intelligible message at all. Just....stupid semi-meaningless sentences.
What do these emails mean? What do they want from me?

It's research. They're testing to see which phrases get through spam filters.

I Am Spurious, Yellow.

If you're really that interested, here's an RSS feed for the latest comments to this blog. Never miss another pointless argument.

Of course comments are moderated, in a common-sense sort of a way. You don't have to give your email address to post here.

If you know your HTML, you can use <a>, <b>, and <i> tags, and entities, too. If you don't, you can still use them, but with a greater sense of trepidation.

Cheers.
