What?

That is deliciously vicious. Couldn't have been said about a nicer guy. He was a transparent self-publicist when he jumped on the anti-apartheid bandwagon, and has been plumbing new depths ever since.

Do you need to worry about slander on a blog or are you 'immune'? Just a thought.

No, there's no need to worry about slander on a blog, because slander is spoken. Libel is written.

I'm genuinely curious. Unless he were to take the word "bastard" literally and take me to court to prove that his parents were married when he was born, what in my post do you think is actionable?

Hmm. dunno. Was just wondering if you could done for publishing derogatory comments about a public figure on the interweb. However, he could well be a bastard as you say.

Do you think Rory Bremner will be OK?

If you're really that interested, here's an RSS feed for the latest comments to this blog. Never miss another pointless argument.

Of course comments are moderated, in a common-sense sort of a way. You don't have to give your email address to post here.

If you know your HTML, you can use <a>, <b>, and <i> tags, and entities, too. If you don't, you can still use them, but with a greater sense of trepidation.

Cheers.
