One of the components of waste glycerin is methanol. Methanol fumes in an 8000 gallon tank with only 1400 gallons on glycerin meet sparks from grinder .....

I was wondering what caused the explosion. Did they not have a way of re-condensing the methanol? Seems like a wasteful process otherwise, given the cost of methanol. Then again, in an empty tank, it doesn't take much to create an explosion.
