A good system for you may be something I just saw at the PowerGen show in Las Vegas last week.

It is called a MARS (Magenn Air Rotor System) from a company called Magenn Power www.magenn.com

Basically a floating wind generator, really cool stuff. Magenn is to start shipping a 4 kW unit next year. I want one!
