I think this recent post has inspired me to try some type of LED lighting in our household.
I do have a question - about how many LEDs would you think are necessary to adequately light a 14x12 s.f. room?
Is placement an importent aspect (i.e. placing in corners, center, etc.)?

We installed 120 LED's in a room that size, in banks of 6, with a 24vdc supply. We ran them in 4 rows of 5 sets, and put the rows 4' apart.

My LEDs came in and I have been testing them. I'm surprised how much light one of them will give off.
What I am looking into next is finding the best circuit design for a AC to DC converter (minimum heat loss).
Did you run your lighting off of converted AC to DC or battery?

Ours ran off a 24 vdc battery pack.
