Regarding the use of red worms for fishing bait, google "invasive worms" to read about the destructive results from introducing non-native earthworm species into the environment.

I was not recommending red worms for fishing. Red worms are better vermiposters than nightcrawlers, but different worms for different purposes. Our worms are indoors, in sealed containers, not loose in the environment.
