I have been reading about agri-char and the Amazon soil for a while now. I at first liked the idea as a way to increase and preserve the fertility of the soil. Now this carbon sink idea would be an unexpected (to me) bonus that could have a tremendous positive impact.

I wonder - how are these pyrolysis plants going to be powered? Is there a net energy loss/disadvantage with this approach?
