Great post. I used to love visiting friends in Pungo, Virginia...yeah, it's a swamp, but their house was in the glidepath for the Oceana Naval Air Station...watched a hell of a lot of those babies fly overhead, and my Dad's grocery store out in the middle of nowhere was an obvious target for simulated bombing runs for them. I can't believe they're being decommed. Aside from my dream come true of actually TOUCHING an SR-71, I hope someday I can ride in a Tomcat...so it looks like I better lose some weight fast, 'cause it sounds like I could actually get a chance in my lifetime!
