Gravatar The next two years have just gotten a bit more interesting.

Gravatar I don't think the Republican GOP has leanrned anything. Gas prices started rising the day before election day; I suspect the oil industry saw "the writing on the wall" and decided their manipulation of gas prices didn't accomplish the desired goal of supporting Republican candidates. I suspect the oil industry and the war machines are going to make all they can make while they can, because they know Dubya's influence with the legislature just went ount the window with the suds.

I hope you are right Sharkie....but I have the feeling the Democratically led GOP will have not learned to listen to the voices of the people who put them in office. It will be interested, indeed, to see how things go. Bush certainly isn't likele to follow our Terminator's lead and compromise on anything. HD

Gravatar Pelosi will, in my opinion, represent the forces of change superbly. She is not an ideologue as the mendacious R's tried to paint her. She is first and foremost a pragmatist. She understands that pragmatism is good politics.

We are about to enter a period in which history will record that the Speaker of the House of Representives provided the leadership that rose to the needs of the time, first and foremost the reclaiming of the position of separate but equal position in our constitutionally defined government...
