Terrific post Russ.
Funny how the reight wingers, when they lose, seem to think that getting the most votes equates to 'stealing the election.' As opposed to say, Bush v. Gore in Dec. 2000.
The overtly violent response that you document is shocking, though somehow not that much of a surprise.

Ah, a compliment from a talented wordsmith.
That put me in "aw, shucks" mode.

Mr. Weiss,
You use the term "teabaggers" to label those of us with or without party affiliation who attend "Tea Parties" to express our collective concern about the tax burdens Obama's administration is seeking to inflict on all of us... including you! Thanks in great part to Anderson Cooper, we all pretty much know that "teabagger" is a filthy, nasty, derogatory "name". Most racists aren't bothered about alienating the targets of their foul-mouthed bigotry. This term is just as low as the "N" word, and yet you hurl it with apparent glee.

Yup, just like terms as Dimocrats", "Dumbocrats" and others hurled at liberals like me. Using a term like "teabagger" would make my attempt at humor "sophomoric" and not racist as you infer.
If you read my post again, including the lede, you'll see that I used some form of "teabagger" about 5 times. Likewise, "Tea Party" (in one form or another) was used 8 times. See, I was more "fair and balanced" than Fox News!
Tell me, when did you complain about George Bush's bailouts in Sept/Oct of 2008 with his tax burdens hoisted upon us? The Taxed Enough Already people wouldn't begin to protest until, oh let's say, until after Obama was elected.
Here was Pres. Bush commenting on Sept. 25th, 2008:
"I'm a strong believer in free enterprise, so my natural instinct is to oppose government intervention," he said. But "these are not normal circumstances. The market is not functioning properly. There has been a widespread loss of confidence.
"Without immediate action by Congress, America can slip into a major panic."
That was over $700B worth of bailouts. How is Pres. Obama's plan different? Do you think Obama doesn't believe in free enterprise?
I don't remember seeing you comment here or anywhere for that matter.
