Blogzie wants a Creative Zen Player! Where did you get yours? What model is it? I'm so out of the technology loop. It sounds like fun. And something new to shop for, even more fun. I wish we could go shopping together. Way more fun.
I once lived in an apartment and had a next door neighbor with a barking dog. It was horrible. She was a cocktail waitress and was gone everyday from from 4pm until 2am. The dog barked the entire time. And it was one of those small yappy dogs. I complained to the manager and she put one of those muzzle things on the dog. I could hear the dog whimpering throught the muzzle and I felt incredible guilt. I couldn't stand it any longer, so I moved three doors down. Two months after I went through the hassle of moving, the waitress with the dog moved to another building in the same complex. Go figure. A year later she set her apartment on fire and a fireman had to give the small yappy dog CPR. The dog lived and became a local celebrity on the evening news. A month after that the cocktail waitress died of a drug overdose. I imagine the dog is still living.

Fab to see you posting Dot and Dash!!!
Can we look for you gals to have your very own blog anytime soon?
xoxo to you both ..................
STB, I LOVE my ipod. By adding Bose headphones I have the PERFECT travel companion! Crying babies, loud talkers, gum smackers all nicely blocked out. So is the flight crew but I figure in an emergency I'll eventually notice the other passengers fleeing toward the exits and get the idea to follow.

My, my, my....oh, where to start the comments. A wonderful post as usual STB, but these comments are a hoot.
Blogzie, that story is hilarious! I mean, how often does one get to say, "The dog lived and became a local celebrity on the evening news. A month after that the cocktail waitress died of a drug overdose. I imagine the dog is still living."?? Not nearly enough...
Hmmm.... I haven't seen this Zen player thing! I have been looking into getting an IPOD, but if there's a new dog in town (sorry about the dog reference , then I'll have to check it out before I spend the dough.
I also wanted to say welcome to Dot and Dash!! They should meet my little (annoying, yapping chihuahua's) Minnie and Lola! I'm running over to my blog to post pics of them now....

I have the little ipod...the shuffle thingy. It's nowhere near as cool as the big girl version, but it was free, so I'm not complaining. Ok, I really AM complaining, but we'll just pretend otherwise. I'm insanely jealous of your really cool zen thing!
My neighbor has a huge dog. They leave it outside for hours, and the damned thing barks like crazy. They used to let it run free until enough people called the police. I even filed a complaint against them, and they tried to get out of it by pretending they didn't understand English. The court provided an interpreter, and miraculously they English flowed from their lips. They didn't learn, because they've been to court again over the dog. The judge said that next time, the man is going to jail, period, because he's had enough. It's barking as I type. I love dogs, and I have 2 of them. I don't, however, leave them outside for hours at a time whilst they bark. I feel rather sorry for the dog, actually. I hope the guy goes to jail though. Is that bad?

I'm saving my spare change for an iPod. I keep trying to steal my cousin's at family functions but he always notices me slipping it out of his shirt pocket. [makes note to self to get him drunker at Thanksgiving dinner]
Our neighbors had three dogs when we moved in nine years ago: one died of old age, one (sadly) was bitten by something and had to be put down, and the last one continues on and on and on. What's sad is that he barks because they spend no time with him. They've at least started letting him into the house instead of just the doggy room they built for him under the porch.
When he finally goes, though, it will take every ounce of self control I have not to suggest that maybe since both of them travel an average of 20 days per month that another dog isn't such a hot idea.

I'm sorry--i'm still laughing at you as the AntiCollector! Got one of those purist domiciles, do you? I remember Jackie O's sister--what's her name?--talking about her stark apartment in Paris, and how she had gotten to a place in her life where she didn't need to own beautiful things: she was content to just be able to see them on occasion.
Not there yet, but I can dig it.

You found the silver lining in the cloud in that situation for sure! Music is great, too, I love it. I have an iRiver player and do the same type of thing.
Found your blog through Sassy's. Nice to meet you.

I am so behind the times - I need one of those! It's interesting how life presents an obstacle, and then something steps in to take care of it, in this case, music. Music keeps me occupied and happy in many places - on the train, at the gym, on the walk home from work, all sorts of places. It's always nice to know that bliss is just an mp3 away.
