yeah the heat & hummidity where i am has just gotten ridiculous at this point as well...but i admire you for keeping up your walking routine...i only venture outside to get in the car or turn on the sprinkler...ciao

It's hot here too and I try very hard not to complain about it too much. Having spent the first 33 winters of my life in a place that had not only summers from hell but winters that were worse, I try to simply tolerate summer. When I lived in the Mid-West it was not uncommon for the temperature to be over 100 for weeks on end with the same high humidity we have here in FL. It was also quite normal to experience below freezing or below zero temperatures for weeks on end as well. I own no coat, snow shovel or ice scraper and I like it that way.

We were in Las Vegas in July and on one of those days they set a record. One hundred twenty one degrees. Yes, 121 AND the humidity was 5%!!! "But it's a dry heat." Indeed. So is my oven but I don't want to set it to 121 and climb inside.

About the Space Shuttle, I'm crossing my fingers and any other body part I can make cross that they return safely and that the insulation blanket flapping by the window doesn't matter.

I remember that heat and how stifling it can be, but it could be worse, I have a friend in Palm Springs who's in Florida right now to escape the 100 something temperature.
