STB - you are so on target. In the movie the parenthood with steve martin, Kneau Reeves says the line, you know you have to have a license to fish, but just about anyone can be a parent (don't think those were exact words). I think that because you don't want children, that's why you are so good with them, but if you did, you should be given the same consideration as everyone else, sexual orientation should not be an issue. It does just make one want to scream. Have a great weekend - I hear again that we are to have little to no rain after this afternoon. Take care of your toe, stubbing them hurts like a bitch doesn't it!! Peace...

There are major major problems in this country-regarding children and how they are abused, mistreated and neglected..and I have been bugged for years about the gay adoption issue. Makes my blood boil, the way this country sets limits with people who are gay, yet the straight people of the world are still abusing children, kidnapping children, divorcing left and right (you know that whole marriage thing we have to remember it's sacred, so gay people can't do it--I mean look how sacred it is among straight people!?!! (note: angry sarcasm sigh..)
I'm right there with you on the topic..and wish there were more people in government who saw things as we do.

Isn't it a shame that people who want children and would make excellent parents are denied the opportunity simply because of their sexual orientation. Yet, others who should never have children and are in fact horrible irresponsible parents, are "entitled" to reproduce as many as humanly possible with no qualifications, training, regulations, or expertise whatsoever. Then society is expected to pick up the slack and provide what the parents are not in many cases emotionally as well as financially. Our schools and court systems are full of them.
How about the folks who picket outside of family planning clinics work on this one since they all seem to have some spare time?

My Dad was in the cattle business for a long time in his life. At one point, he was trying to get a stubborn cow to move into a pen. He got very frustrated, and went to kick it in the butt.
At the same time his boot was on the upswing, the cow lifted it's hind hoof. Tow and hoof made solid contact.
My Dad was hopping on one foot, with the other foot attached to a now broken toe... laughing and crying at the same time!

I'm all for zero population growth. At least for a few years so that we have time to breathe.
I find it unbelievable that people still continue to clone themselves while there are so many kids that need homes. It's so selfish and egotistical.
And all this nonsense that gays shouldn't be allowed to adopt, what is wrong with this country?

I often get aggravated when I watch certain television shows, too. But you might want to watch that rage when you're watching TV... you don't have many other toes to sacrifice!
I sometimes think I'd be a good parent. I mean, I turned out okay, and I grew up in a really messed up house! So, if they can do it, why can't I? But then, I'd have less time to watch TV if I had some kid, so I don't know. I'll think about it some more...
