Here is the thing that separates fair-weather fans from true fans: love of the game. It was good baseball. Both teams fought hard. There were some astounding moments (multiple homerun games, someone getting a homerun in his first ever world series at bat, the controversial 3rd strick call, the white sox "adjusting" to astros pitching in game 3) and they made for good baseball and recognizing that is what matters. You are a joy, STB. You really are.
Let's keep our fingers crossed on the indictments. The reporters are camped out like it's Monica all over again. (Hey, in DC, want to know what the news is, look for the microwave dish on the back of the van )

They played great, fought hard, just wasn't our time. But they are still a great team and we will all have our hopes high next season (only 5 months away). Now that it is over - I sure hope they fry some ass on capital hill as well. Have a good one STB - Blog with you soon.

STB
The first thing I thought of at the end of last night's game was you.
But I'm glad that they made it that far....and just think: "There's always next year!"
I'm glad your heart is only bruised and not broken. They played so well.

It's true, STB is a FAN, and not just during fair weather.
Now the question is, what sport will he be watching?
All will be revealed.

Both teams deserved to be in the World Series.... both teams played excellent baseball.
Unfortunatly for the ASTROS, the White Sox were a better team this time around.
You are a true fan and there is always a next time and isn't it fun to be a true fan when your team is in the series!
Although I live in Tampa Bay, I'm a fierce fan of the Colts football team, because I'm a huge fan of their coach Tony Dungy who was the former coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs..... The Colts are now 7-0 and I'm praying they go all the way!
As for the losers in Washington.... I don't think we'll have to fry them at all. Somehow, I think they're soon gonna be starting to fry themselves.

Sorry your guys came in second... but it sounds like they played really great. Doing your best is what it's all about. Sounds like you're just as proud of them as you would have been had they taken the series.
Now, about that t-shirt.... did you loose a bet or something? KIDDING. What a cute, young STB!

hey butler...i thought i commented here this morning but i guess it got lost somewhere...
sorry about the astros...they have nothing to be ashamed of...they played their hearts out...derek jeter said it best: "great teams make it to the post season, but the hot teams win it all"...and the white sox were just that...hot at the right time...doncha hate sweeps in the world series? so anti-climatic...
so maybe tomorow we'll have some good news about my pals karl and dick...
and yes, butler, please do elaborate on this photo...very striking, indeed!
ciao...
