If he gets elected again, it will be because it is Texas, and Texas likes to vote Republican.
It really depends on who is running in the big one, and who's coatails they can ride on.
That's the problem with voting along party lines if you do not know the issues. It's pretty scary who and what we will/can and have voted in that way!

You know, I've been thinking about focusing local, too. If not that, then we're just sitting in the bleachers, aren't we?
Of course DeLay's not going away. This moment is an inconvenient hiccup, that's all.

A couple I saved for you, more on my entry for today...
"Politics has become so expensive that it takes a lot of money even to be defeated."
"A fool and his money are soon elected. "
"If you ever injected truth into politics you have no politics."
Amazing how some things hold up...

Well written and dead on. Most of us think that politicians are rotten. I think it would be interesting to see just how rotten. Who could we get to look into that? Oh, another rotten politician!

I do understand the entire post. My only problem is that I am personal friends with two congressman and it bothers me to think they are rotten. If the Dems ever win the house back they will hold important with their seniority.
I am going to be hard to keep one senate seat in MN with the Dems. It is nice to say that even some moderate Republican friends of mine are kicking themselves that they voted for the shrub.......

holy smokes, i saw your photo on Dr. Deb's blog and thought it was a joke because you looked so much like Bill Clinton...so i came over to check you out, on closer scrutiny is see it is only a vague physical resemblance.
i'm not going to presume to comment on American politics, i only know what i see in sound bytes on the news.
Well, i'm going back to check our local news to see what is happening to the 300 homeowners who are on evacuation standby (a mudslide is threatening their hillside houses because of the record setting 24 days of non-stop rain). Well, B.C. is not the Tall Tree Capital of the world for nothing, eh!

I heard a snippet of "Marketplace" on NPR today. They say California is about to become the world largest producer of electricty from solar cells. They expect 1 million homes and businesses to be outfitted with the cells (I didn't hear how long that would take...details). The amount of electricity produced will be equal to six power plants.
It seems that we struggle and struggle and struggle to get by. Listening to the news, you'd think there is no solution to the energy crises. Now look at California.
If politicians and people focus their energy, anything can be accomplished. How long can we rape and beat the golden goose that is America? We've got to invest more than we take. We're riding on fumes. We need to catch a sun beam. Let's wake up!
Thank you STB
