I personally believe it doesn't have anything to do with Narnia. I remember seeing previews of this show last year, then it just never came on?
If ABC/Disney were courting the religous right (extreme Southern Baptist), they surely would not have Desperate Housewives (an affair with a teenage boy, who lives across the street from an alcoholic who has a gay son, next to a mom who is hooked on a.d.d meds), followed by Grey's Anatomy (more affairs, and talk of abortion).
I wish this series would have come to light. I think this series would have been much more enlightening than the one that was "The Bachelor for a gay man", where didn't know which one was straight. That didn't do anything for how the rest of the world looks at gay couples, it was sickening.
The vision is skewed, I wish it wasn't, but it is. We need to find a balance, somewhere in between Will & Grace and Queer as Folk.
sighs -- If I could change it, I would.

Having grown up in Lynchburg, VA ~ the hometown of Jerry Falwell himself ~ I am well aware of what the Southern Baptists have put Disney through over Disney's stance on GLBT issues. My ex and I made yearly trips to the Magic Kingdom, in part, to support that stance. It concerns me that Disney may be weakening there. The Chronicles of Narnia were written by a Christian theologian of great renown and the Christ images are strong and powerful ones. If the Southern Bapstists can't support THAT simply because Disney made the movie, it says more about them than anything else they may preach. I hope so very much that Disney had other reasons besides the Southern Baptists for not showing the series. I had wondered what had become of it...

Interesting article. Thanks for sharing it.
The school I taught in STB is now closed also. It was right off the 610 loop and ship channel. It was Clinton Park, which was the smallest school in HISD. I lived right off I-10 close to Channelview but still in Houston. I can say, I don't miss the pollution!!!
