Anyway, a little story about the Big B, when I was living in Virginia at age 11 my family and I went to the White House and stood at the gate. Lo and behold, the Big B was out walking the dog and came up to the gate to greet the gawkers.
I had my hands in my pockets and the secret service came over to me and told me to take them out or I would be escorted away. Terrified I stared at them and the Big B says, "Son, do as the man says"
Oh and another thing, a similar thing happened when I worked near the White House a few years later. But this time Clinton was in office.

There was a huge article in the NYTimes Friday about corruption at the Red Cross and I thought of you, STB. All I could think was "Well, if they'd seen the mess at the Astrodome no one would be surprised by wide-spread fraud." I guess I'm not dead: it actually made me sad to have that sort of first-hand knowledge you so beautifully passed on to us.
