What a wonderful post STB. I didn't realize you were living in Houston. I hope you have a good fortune and health there. As a gay woman, I am scared to ever go to Texas for longer than an airport delay on my way from W. Coast to E. Coast. The guns, ranchers, people like G.B. that I know I'd get into it with out there..and not to mention the Texas Chainsaw Massacre...I know, it's a movie, but it's the closest thing to Texas my brain knows and can relate to. LOL.

Nothing has changed yet everything has changed. I don't know what has happened to us (Americans): did we just start buying our own myths, or was it that we just started buying everything period?
All I know is that I have to, for my own sanity, turn inward and outward simultaneously: look to my friends for love and comfort and (relative) sanity. The center is not holding; I'm not even sure the center still exists.
I hope you find a way to take care and be well. I truly do.
do not forget the cows, and horses and all the golfing too. damn it where's that piece of cake ?
