Gravatar Rule 7 (special Rule for BW): If you seek to obey all the above rules but can't do it yourself, befriend Alan

Gravatar Have you seen what someone has done to it now? I think he's incorporated every one of your rules....

He's nicked my blue and magenta too. Ah well, imitation and all that....

PS When you've finished with Mr Piggy, how about sorting out whatever stops your page being the only one in the blogland that can't be forced to its most up-to-date version by putting a '?' on the end

Gravatar I like these rules. Really, I do.

What do you say to frames and tables?

Gravatar I say "hello frames and tables".

Use what you like - as long as it does the job you want it to do...

Want extensive indexing internally and by search engines? Might need to rethink those frames perhaps. They have their uses - but on the world wide web (as opposed to intranets) generally the advantages are a lot less.

When it comes to tables, I'm old-school - they provide the best method of pixel perfect layout. Sometimes there are things that only a smidgeon of css can acheive, but I've found it's often a good idea to mix both - AS LONG AS YOU THOROUGHLY TEST YOUR LAYOUT!

Gravatar I'll look into it BW - it's possible it's a caching issue that may be an odd clash between my hosting provider with certain service-client provision.

Gravatar Yeah, I know, do remove the tech-speak, we decided months ago that it was NThelL causing it.
Oh well.
Tomorrow I probably won't care

Gravatar But it might be an issue with my hosting provider too. They're crap too.

Gravatar It may also have something to do with the fact that when you try to load the page with a '/?' at the end of the url, it auto-changes to a '//' at the end.

Gravatar I just noticed that - I don't have that level of control over requests into the space where I'm hosted... hence me saying it's a hosting issue. It's something I want to address, but of course needs money.

Gravatar Value Tip: £15 a year for more bandwidth than you'll use at 34sp....
